Five Things I'm Loving

1. The Little Couple

I want to move in with these people.  Seriously.  Even if you're not a fan of reality tv, you should be watching this show.  I know, I know most reality television is a vast wasteland of mindlessness - kind of like a trashy novel - but this show is different.  Jen Arnold and Bill Klein are a married couple with dwarfism living in Houston.  She is a neonatologist and they own a pet store with her parents.  In addition to all the problems that come from being little people, life got more difficult when they tried to start a family.  They eventually adopted two children, from China and India, who also have dwarfism.  In the middle of the adoption process, Jen found out she had a rare form of cancer.  Jen and Bill handle all of these obstacles with humor, kindness and a postive attitude.  They are two of the most inspiring people you will see on television, and I smile through every show. Plus, I secretly want to pick Jen up and hug her.  Completely inappropriate and I'm sure she wouldn't appreciate it, but she's that adorable.

2. Apartment Geeks.net

I don't have an apartment, but this website has all sorts of great ideas for storage and cleaning any size living space.  The 15 Little Kitchen Tricks That Will Make Your Life Easier has some unique tips.  Did you know that adding baking soda when boiling eggs keeps the whites from sticking to the peel?  Or that putting a wooden spoon across the top of a pot of water keeps it from boiling over?  Me either, and I'm hopeless in the kitchen, so I need all the help I can get.

3. This post by Marie at Normal Everyday Life.  She spoke about removing our masks and connecting with the people in our life that allow us to be our true selves.  Marie wrote, "If you're honest when talking to others, it's like an avalanche.  It gives them permission to be honest, and you all end up feeling better".  Amen.  Go read the rest!

4. Jergens BB Body Cream.

Love, love.  Listen, I'm pale - I live in Washington.  No tanning for me - too many relatives with melanoma.  For $11.99, this lotion makes your skin tone more even, hides small imperfections, and gives you a gradual golden glow. I've only been using it for a few weeks, but I no longer look like a marble statue from the Museum of Art.  I picked mine up at Target (another love, but that's a whole separate post).

5. Country Style Beef Ribs.  Susan at The Most -- Of Every Moment shared this recipe on her blog.  Guess what I'm making for my hubby on Father's Day!  That man likes himself some beef, and these ribs look delicious and very simple to make.

  12. Wow, Lana ... Thanks so much for linking my recipe! If you have any questions making it, let me know! I hope it turns out well!

My daughters friends came over when we got home last night. I was scrolling on my phone listening to them chatter. Just when my fair-skinned daughter was complaining how she never tans (and is going to lifeguard at an indoor pool (!) this summer, I read your information about BB cream. We may both be trying it!!
    Happy weekend
