A Maxi Story

I'm waving my white flag again.  I've been resisting a maxi skirt.  But as has been the trend lately, Alison told me to get one anyway.

So I went shopping.  I'm pretty sure I tried on at least ten maxi skirts before settling on this one. I'm still not sure that I like how it looks on me.  I'm tall so I usually go for something shorter, and this feels like a lot of skirt.

However.  I don't care what it looks like, because it is the most comfortable item of clothing I've ever worn, and I can wear it outside the house, unlike my favorite pajamas. It's cool and forgiving, and perfect for hot summer weather.  In related news, I saw two women at the grocery store today wearing pajama bottoms.  Really?  I should have told them about my maxi skirt!

I've had this denim vest for years.  It's been sitting in my closet because I was never sure how to style it.  I really like it with the lime green shirt and the maxi skirt.

So fine, Alison was right again.  Why do I ever doubt her?  If I haven't convinced you, here are some other cute ways to style a maxi skirt.

I'm linking up today with these lovely ladies.  Go see what they wore this week!

  1. I'm laughing to read you say you resist the maxi skirt because you are tall. I thought maxi skirts were designed for tall people. I think you look amazing!! I'm SHORT and I've always thought they would look ridiculous on me. Maybe I need to try one on?

This is such a nice look. Just the right mix I'd say. Plus you can just tell how comfortable you are in it by looking at your face. Love the side pony too.

I really love your jean vest. I like the tailored cut. Very flattering.

  20. Maxi skirts are a staple for me - for both style and comfort. Alison obviously gives good advice - you look great in the skirt. Pairing it with the denim vest was a fabulous idea. I love creating new looks that incorporate older items in my closet.
