My New Happy: Summer Scarf

Summer Scarf

I love to wear scarves - yes, even in the summer.  Scarves add a colorful finishing touch to a simple outfit, and are a fun alternative to a necklace.  I admit that I'm a bit challenged when it comes to tying them - which is why infinity scarves are my new best friend.  Loop them around your neck twice - and you're done!

Summer scarves work even in warmer climates, as long as you keep the fabric light.  The one I'm wearing above is a tie-dye cotton voile, and it adds visual interest to my skirt and t-shirt without weighing me down.

I found some lovely scarves online that I might have to add to my collection.

This flag scarf from Target couldn't be more summer-like.

An acrylic gauze scarf, like this one from Old Navy, is so lightweight, you won't even know you have it on.

The pom poms on this scarf from Nordstrom add a really fun texture.

Does anyone else wear a scarf in the summer, or is it just me?

  1. I'd wear one if I was headed to a conference or something. But right now my summer uniform consists of skorts or shorts and flip flops...I seldom look nice enough to need a scarf. But I love them too. :)

  4. I have to stay away from stores that sell scarves. I own SO many but it always seems I can find another one that I "need".

  7. Very cute! I never wear scarves because they seem so hard to tie the right way. Yours looks great though!

    1. Give an infinity scarf a try - you don't have to tie anything and it looks great!

  8. You look great! I haven't mastered the art of keeping the scarf in place so I always look homeless.

  9. I love and adore scarves in the cool weather but this Texas girl can't do it in the summer. I know that others do though with tank tops and it looks so cute!! Yours looks great with your skirt.

  12. I LOVE scarves. It just feels so good to wear them. I must confess that I am not one to wear them in the summer here. I can barely take the heat as it is. That being said, though, I need to keep my eye out for a few summer ones that are light for when I'm inside where it is cooler. Thanks for the reminder to do that. And you look absolutely lovely!
