My New Happy: The Lenox Tree

The Lenox Tree

It's the most wonderful time of the year!  We all love Christmas at my house - but my hubby really, really loves Christmas.  Especially the decorations!

Every year, from baby hood on, my mother in law gave my husband a special ornament for the Christmas tree.  In 1982 Lenox started making an annual ornament, and when we got married, Elizabeth gifted the collection to us - and then continued to add to it until she got sick a few years ago.

So now we have the Lenox tree.  Our friends joke and say there should be a velvet rope around it - but miraculously, not a single ornament has been lost.

We decorate it with white lights, gold balls, and crystal and Lenox ornaments.

There are bells and spires.

Kermits and Grinches.

Every single one is special.

Decorating the Lenox tree was really special this year.  It's our first Christmas without Elizabeth - and each and every ornament has so many memories.

On December 19th I'll be doing a Christmas Home Tour link up with the Style Me Bloggers, and I hope you'll join us.

  2. How wonderful. We tried to start doing this when we got married but so many years we wound up going away and never decorated.

All of those will be such family heirlooms.

    1. I should probably make a list of each one and when/where it came from.

  5. Your tree is absolutely stunning - and the sentimental value is priceless. I started collecting tree ornaments during my travels years ago, so I have quite a few. The breakable ones have not been put up for quite a few years though - too risky with our cat!

    1. I know what you mean about the cat - my sister's cat practically lives in their tree during Christmas!

  6. Very, very pretty! I love the Lenox ornaments and have one from the years that each of my children were born. I am looking for special ornaments for the grandbabies first Christmas even though they won't be home yet I want to gift them to my daughter for her tree next year and every year after I think that is a lovely tradition. Hope you had a great time but really glad your back!

  8. Absolutely gorgeous! Mine is decorated with hand-made (some successful, some not) ornaments from my kids. Everything else has to be warranted unbreakable from the threat of many tiny hands. I am so in awe of a beautiful tree like yours! :)
