Old School Blogging - Full On Random

Happy Monday!  Today I'm linking up with Elaine at Miss Elaine-ous Life for some Old School Blogging.  This month's topic is "Full On Random", and the questions are really fun and well....random.

If you could be on a reality show, which one would you choose?

This was the hardest question for me, because I'm a reality show fanatic and I love them all.  Do I join the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and wear fabulous clothes and throw wine glasses at the Richards' sisters?  Or would I want to design beautiful gowns on Project Runway and be mentored by Tim Gunn?  In the end, I'm going with the Amazing Race.  My husband and I have been together forever, we know each other's strengths and weaknesses, and I totally think we would win.  Now I just need to convince Phil.

Name one thing you have saved from your childhood.

I still have this stuffed panda bear that my grandma Mary brought to the hospital when I was born.  Which makes it almost 48 years old.  Most of the fur is rubbed off, and the eyes have been repaired many times.  But it still has a little jingle bell in its ear, and just pulling it out for this picture made me happy.

If your life had a theme song, what would it be?

Another difficult choice.  I love music and there are so many songs that mean a lot to me.  But for the second half of my life, I want to "live it" like this song from One Republic.  I want to do it all, be brave, and have no regrets.

Where is your happy place?

Hands down, no question, the beach.  I love playing in the water, relaxing on the sand with a good book, and listening to the waves as I go to sleep at night. It's heavenly.

What is the one thing about your home that you and your spouse disagree on?

Air conditioning.  He wants it and I don't.  First of all, we don't have that many really hot days in Seattle.  Plus I'm cold approximately ten months out of the year, and I don't thaw out until mid summer.  We argue about it every August when he's sweating and I'm finally comfortable.

What is your favorite fruit?

Strawberries.  Especially strawberry shortcake - does that count?

Bowtie or Regular Tie?

There's nothing more handsome than my husband in a suit and tie.  But come on, how cute is this guy in a bowtie?

He wasn't happy with me when I took this - can you tell?

Mexican or Italian (food, not men).

I love both, but I'm choosing Italian.  Pasta should be it's own food group, especially when cheese is added.  Plus there's the whole wine thing.

Where do you want to go on summer vacation?

We've been looking into travelling to Norway in the summer of 2016.  My husband's family were Norwegian immigrants, and he spent a month backpacking around the country after college.  He really wants to take us for a visit, and it definitely looks beautiful.

What are your go to shoes in your closet?

My Skechers Go Walks.  I wear these shoes several times a week.  I've worn them to Disney and walked miles and miles in them, my feet didn't hurt at the end of the day, and they still look pretty good.  I feel like I should buy a few back up pairs in case they stop making them.  A close second are my Tom's (see them all back there)?

Hope everyone has a wonderful week.  Spring arrives on Friday!

  5. Okay, I see multiple pairs of shoes in the background...it's a sickness! Come on you can tell me haha! I need to get me some of the Sketchers Go Walks sound like they would be perfect for me and my aching feet! I usually try to stick with Adidas or Reebok (hubby works for them) but I saw this awesome pair of Converse that I want! Everyday, it seems like we find more and more in common with each other. My husband and I are reality TV nuts and have always dreamed of going on the Amazing Race together, the beach every time for me too! Love it and hope to retire there someday! Maybe we could get matching bungalows haha!

  6. Watching Bryan sing along with First Republic is so moving. What a wonderful video you have shared - such a good example for us all! Traveling north in Norway by train was some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen in my life. Sounds like a wonderful trip to look forward to! Such great choices in this fun post!

  7. We're practically neighbors! I'm just up the coast near Vancouver and we get equally the same amount of rain as you. Warmth and beaches? Yes please. Am off to look for those Sketchers. Love them and they sound perfect for my Amazing Race audition ...

  10. Loved your answers! Have to agree with you about pasta needing it's own food group :) I'm also cold almost all the time, so I can relate about the a/c issue (although I find myself reaaaaally fussy in humid summer Kansas heat!).

  11. This is a great post! I'm totally going with Real Housewives unless VH1's Rock of Love is an option---lol! My favorite fruit is wine so yours can totally be strawberry shortcake 😉

  13. My sister-in-law (ish.. long story) and her boyfriend tried out for The Amazing Race. I can't believe they didn't get picked because their whole lives were just like that show - always racing around the world.
    Love the panda. So special.
That bow tie photo is incredible!
