Style Me Bloggers: Something I Made

Today the Style Me Bloggers are linking up to show off something we made. Obviously some talented member of our group came up with this topic, and it wasn't me.  I thought about posting a picture of my boys and leaving it at that, but not everyone gets my weird sense of humor.

I am not what you would consider crafty, although I really wish I was. Having a Craft/DIY blog would be so much fun, but I look at DIY projects on other sites and wonder why I didn't come up with something like that. Oh wait, I remember...

Because I'm not crafty.  But I AM pretty good at copying things other people have done.  Not sure anyone would want to come visit that blog though, so I guess I'll just keep doing whatever it is I do here.

Anyway.

I saw this mason jar project on My Anything And Everything last summer, and thought it looked so cute and fairly simple.  The first picture shows the jars I made, and below is what they're supposed to look like.  I think mine turned out pretty similar.  The chalk paint was very easy to work with, but painting sharp lines using stencils on a curved surface took some trial and error.  Hence, you will not be seeing a close up of this project.

I think these would be cute with Easter or Spring stenciled on them too, and some pretty pastel flowers.  Hmm...might give that a try and I'll share it when I'm done.

Maybe I'll make this instead.  The SITS Girls recently posted 20 spring crafts and recipes, and this initial wreath was my favorite.

Or I could just spring-ify my whole front porch like Christine at Little Brags did. So cute!

Check out the other Style Me Bloggers to see what they made, and link up with us below.  There are sure to be some great ideas from this creative bunch!

  6. That's a fun mason jar project - yours look great! I can only imagine how hard it would be to paint straight lines.

    1. The straight lines didn't work out too well - but if you don't look too close, it's hard to tell!

  12. You did a great job copying the jars! In fact, I think yours look even better than the original! Be sure to share the spring one with us if you do it! Maybe you can paint the S-P-R-I on the back of FALL and then you only have to add two more?

    1. That is such a great idea - then I would only have to do two more! Thanks for the suggestion.
