Sharing Some Gratitude Part Eleven

There's so much to be grateful for this month!

--I'm grateful for my Uncle Rick.  We've had a very close relationship my entire life, and I love him so much.  He's kind and generous and awesome (even though he's a Rams fan). Right now he's battling cancer and starts chemo treatments today.  Any prayers and good thoughts would be appreciated.

--I'm grateful for my dentist.  There is a lot of trouble going on with my teeth, and he has been working diligently to treat them all.  On Monday he decided that one of my molars needs to come out and be replaced with an implant.  Dr. W was so upset about it, I felt like I couldn't be upset.  It's rare to find a medical professional that cares that much.

--I'm grateful to find out that there's a timer on my IPhone camera. Why didn't my kids tell me?  I suspect they don't want me taking more selfies. Anyway.....this will make my life so much easier.  Well, once I get the hang of it.  On the left is my "happy to learn this information" picture, and on the right is me the next day trying to take a full length picture using the timer.  Clearly there will be some trial and error.

--I'm grateful that it's baseball season.  Nah, not really.  But I am grateful on behalf of all of my friends and family who love it - you know who you are. I've promised my son that I'll go to a few Mariner's games with him, so maybe there's hope for me yet!

--I'm grateful that our local frozen yogurt shop has started serving this! Dole Whip is one of my very favorite treats at Disney.  And yes, this frozen yogurt tastes just the same. It's so good (hmm...and only 80 calories)!

I hope you find what you're grateful for this month.  Have a wonderful weekend!

  3. I'm like you sticking to football1 My husband took me to a Cincinnati Reds game a couple of years ago. I swear I wanted to stab myself in the eyes for some excitement. The most boring 5 hours I ever spent in my life...the gynecologist is more fun! If you go take a book with you, you will definitely need it! The pics crack me up! Saying a prayer for Uncle Rick today!!!! Hopes for a very speedy recovery!

    1. Susan, you are so sweet. My teeth have gotten very crooked the last few years and I always try to angle my pictures so you can't tell. I'm ready to get Invisalign but have to take care of the problems first. I found the timer button at the top of the "photo" screen when you take a picture - mine has a 3 second or 10 second delay time.

  6. I think you should get a selfie stick and then you can use that with the timer. :) Also, I'd like to try Dole Whip. I've heard people mention it before and it sounds good!

  8. I am grateful for friends like YOU! And sending up prayers for Uncle Rick. Once you learn the ins and outs of the timer, will you give me a block of instruction? My kids neglected to tell me about that, too. Kids!

  9. I spent the entire weekend spring cleaning my bedroom and purging my closet! A great project to get done - and I am now grateful for having less stuff and being able to give things to someone who needs them more than I do!
Good luck to your uncle - I hope chemo is not too rough, and he is soon well.
We had snow here, but my husband was in Seattle for the weekend and came back with a bit of a sunburn. Hopefully it was nice for your son's track meet!
