A Winery And Mick Jagger

I can't believe the three day weekend is already over!  Even though the sun never quite showed its face, the temperatures were mild and it didn't rain.

On Sunday, C and I spent the afternoon at the Chateau Ste. Michelle for their Staycation Exotic Car Show.  This lovely winery is located in Woodinville, about thirty minutes from our home.  The buildings and grounds are beautiful.

Wonder what's hiding behind the door?

Maybe the giant who is waiting to eat this fruit.

After wandering around the winery, we met up with some of C's friends to look at the exotic cars.

These Ferrari's cost $200,000 - $350,000 each.  I'd rather buy a house.

There were lots of interesting cars - including these vintage Subaru's.

And then he found it!  We turned the corner, the heavens parted, and C came face to headlights with a Supra, the "best car ever made by Toyota".  He says he'd rather have this car than a Ferrari - but I don't believe him.  And I'd still take a house.

MEANWHILE, in another part of the country, this was going on....

G and T were in San Diego, enjoying the sunshine, the Coronado, the beaches, and....

The Rolling Stones!!

Several months ago, when the Stones announced a new tour, T hoped and prayed and prayed and hoped that they would visit Seattle or somewhere close by.

But they didn't.  The nearest venue was Petco Park in San Diego.  T was really disappointed. He loves music of all kinds, and seeing the Rolling Stones was on his bucket list.

As an aside, is 17 too young to have a bucket list?  T says no, because it's a VERY long list, so he needs plenty of time.  Plus, he was worried that this would be their last tour.  T may be young, but Mick and company are not.

G and I decided to make it a father/son trip as an early 18th birthday present. It's been a tough year for T, but he's kept a positive attitude and risen above the difficulties.

The concert was amazing.  Mick, Keith, Ronnie and Charlie rocked it for over two hours.  My husband couldn't believe their energy.

My guys returned home late last night - exhausted and a little sunburned, but full of excitement about their two day adventure.

Wine, fancy cars, beaches and the Rolling Stones.  I'd say it was a good weekend.

  4. I saw the Stones in concert here in Vancouver about 20 years ago. I couldn't get over their energy then. Wow - so great to hear they are still leaping away. Love that you gave your son that experience. And yes, I'm with you. I'd go for the house, too ...

  5. Sounds like a fabulous weekend! I saw the Stones years ago and would love to see them again! The winery grounds are beautiful and I'm with you, I'd buy a new house vs a car!

My husband just returned from Columbus, OH (visiting his parents) and was lamenting last night that he was missing the Stones concert there by just one weekend! How nice that you spent such a fun day with C. Great photos Lana!

  7. Yeah. I'd say so! :)
Total car nut here, but I'd still take a house over a fancy car. Prefer the oldies . . .
