Whatever Is Lovely Part 3

This has been one of those weeks that has tried its best to kick my butt. But I refuse to give in.  Instead, I'm linking up with Carrie at A Lovely Little Wardrobe for Whatever Is Lovely. Because no matter what, goodness is all around us.  Take that, week.

--A few weeks ago, I was nominated for The Blogger Recognition Award by Leanne at Cresting The Hill.  She is a lovely internet friend who lives in Australia and has a wonderful blog about the joys and challenges of midlife, and being grateful.  In accepting the award I'm asked to 1) Tell the story of how my blog started.  Several years ago it suddenly dawned on me that my main job in life, ie. being a mom, was about to change, and I would have a lot more time on my hands.  Since my other job involves accounting/inventory/purchasing, and I wanted to do something creative, the blog was born.  I love to write, and hopefully by doing so every day I'll get better.  2) Share some advice with new bloggers.  The best thing I've done on this journey is meet other bloggers, by leaving comments and joining groups. They will support you and teach you.  Don't be too hard on yourself - have fun and the rest will fall into place.

Thank you so much Leanne!  I appreciate the nomination.  Be sure to check out her blog!

--I'm having a "plaid" fascination this fall.  Not sure why, but it makes me happy!

--This is a replica of a Van Gogh painting, made by a landscape artist in Minneapolis out of plants growing in a field.  It took six months of digging, growing and mowing - and all I can say is "wow".

--And finally, a shout out to the lovely Blended Blog.  It's been a month since our launch, and so far, it's been a great success.  Thank you so much for reading and commenting.  Today we continue our contributor interview series with Casey, a fashion and food blogger from California.  Be sure to check it out!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.  And Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends - have a piece of pie for me!

  8. That Van Gogh thing is amazing. They did a detailed Alice in Wonderland corn maze up here and I am so impressed by it. So much detail.

Plaid is always my thing! In fall and winter, when sundresses don't suffice.

And I think that's the beautiful you are!

  14. I really need to get caught up over at the Blended Blog! I've fallen behind (the story of my life lately). I love plaid especially at this time of the year. I usually wear mine with a solid t-shirt underneath. Have a great week!
