Motivational Monday XXXIII

For the past thirty years or so, I've written resolutions to start off the new calendar.  Most of the time they were specific tasks that I wanted to accomplish, usually related to wellness or relationships.

As I thought about 2016, I wanted to do something different.

This is going to be a challenging year, so rather than a list of things to do, I decided to set several mindful goals.  I also chose three words that I hope will guide my days:  kindness, courage, and most of all, strength.

I've never considered myself to be unkind, but what if I approach every person and situation with a heart of kindness?  Even though I try to be brave, what if I resolve to have more courage?

And then there's strength.  Will I be strong enough to face this year with kindness and courage?  The answer has to be yes, because there is no other alternative that I can live with.  If the answer is yes, this year will still be challenging, but it will also be positive and beautiful.

Stay tuned.

  6. Mindful goals. I love that.
I don't feel kind and strong very often. It would be awesome for me to start feeling both, with work.

  16. I can't imagine that you could be much kinder! And you have had to muster all of your strength and courage in the last weeks of 2015, so I know you can easily meet these resolutions. I haven't made mine yet. Better get started before the first month of the year has come and gone.
