Motivational Monday XXXVI

I came across this quote on a post written by my friend Launna this weekend, and it really jumped out at me.  All my life, I've been a people pleaser.  It's just part of my personality. I'm the queen of non-confrontation, often to my detriment.

Recently, I finally realized that there will always be people who won't be happy no matter what I do.  Or don't do.  I need to stop putting energy there, and focus on the people who love me no matter what.

Of course, I can't completely isolate myself.  Life requires us to deal with the not so good sometimes.  But if I keep going where the love is, the rest will fall into place.

I'm linking up today with Shaunacey for Monday Moments Of Gratitude. Head over to her blog to check out this great new series.

This week I'm grateful for:

  • A long conversation on Saturday evening with some new friends that have become very special to me.  I love that we can hash out ideas, share our frustrations, and laugh out loud.
  • Time away with my husband.  Even though we were working, we managed to squeeze in some fun.  He's my favorite person to hang out with.

There's a lot going on over at The Blended Blog this week.  We're continuing our New Year, New ______ series with Alison and Sheila, sharing our favorite posts of the month, and continuing our blogger interviews, Featured on Friday.  Hope you'll join us!

  1. It's awesome when we realize and accept that not everyone will like/love us and that's okay... going where the love is, is so important. ♡

I'm glad you had a little get away with your husband. .. that's sweet xox

  2. This is a great message! You're right there will always be someone who is not going to agree or like us but if we focus on those that do, it balances out.

  3. Love that quote. A reminder to choose to just let some things go in life. I think as women we often want everyone to like or love us.

  5. Love this gorgeous! I came to the conclusion that yes some people will never be happy no matter how hard you try and it is their loss not ours. I hope your Monday is off to a wonderful start sweetheart!!

  6. If only we could have learned that when we were younger -- we would have saved ourselves a lot of frustration, pain and what have you!

  10. great quote. I've always been terrible for worrying what people think and trying to please everyone... I've started letting that go in the past few years (slowly) because by trying to please everyone else, you are never pleased yourself.
I am soooo grateful for our Saturday chat, it was so fun!
