My New Happy: February In Numbers

February In Numbers

February has come to an end, so it's time to link up with Deena and share my month in numbers.  Did anybody else notice that there are 5 Mondays this month? That just doesn't seem fair.  In other numbers news:

Another 29 days without shopping, which brings the grand total thus far to 60. I need to be sure and share that with my husband.

As promised, I'm reporting in on how the "Happy Light" is working.  I remembered to turn it on 3 days.  I don't think that qualifies for a review, but I have high hopes for March.

2 brand new cousins snuggled.  How I wish they lived closer, because I need more babies in my life.  Especially sweet little girls wearing pink cardigans.

I found out that my Invisalign treatment will last for 30 months.  Which is much longer than the original plan of 1 year.  I'm panicking a little bit.  What have I gotten myself into?  Stay tuned.

Managed to get 19 workouts in, even though I have now developed tendonitis in my rotator cuff.  I didn't know that was even a thing, until I couldn't lift weights over my head without grimacing.

1 trip to the State swim championships, 1 happy boy, 2 proud parents, and 1 amazing swim coach.  We've had the pleasure of knowing Meredith for 7 years, as both C and T swam for her.  She's a miracle worker in the pool, and though she may be tiny, she's fierce.

Our company had 2 very successful business meetings.  We're ready to grow, and exciting things are on the horizon.  I think I need to hire an assistant!

The blog, on the other hand, isn't doing as well.  I wrote 13 posts this month, but page views are way down, especially compared to last year.  Need to figure this out, stat.  Maybe I need a blog assistant instead?

2 books read - again!  That's 2 months in a row now, so I'm on a roll.  Both were quick, easy reads, and I enjoyed them.

I'm looking forward to March.  There are only 4 Mondays, and C turns 21.  I'll be able to send him to the store for wine!

    1. I did, but it's not my favorite Liane Moriarty book. Good for a quick, light read though.

  3. Yay on the workouts!! My page views are a little down too and I heard one blogger say that people are getting blogged out, Oooh I do not hope so! I think people are just getting busier and busier too which makes it hard to find time to read blogs. I make the time because they make me happy! That is so funny about sending your son to the store to buy wine, I love It Lana! I hope your weekend is as glorious as you are!

  4. Wow! High five on the workouts and shopping ban. I'm impressed. Can you come and motivate and do a shopping intervention for me?

Not cool about the injury though.

Blog stats are the hardest thing to figure out. I agree with Andrea that there might be a bit of blog overload. I think that is why so many people have switched to IG. I find IG shallow though. It is difficult to make connections. Something interesting I read was that a blogger is supposed to spend 90% of their time creating content and only 10% of their time catching up on social media. I'm doing that ALL wrong.

    How was 3 Wishes?

    1. I'm definitely doing the content/social media thing wrong too. Three Wishes was good, but not her best. Fun read though!

  5. So much to comment on! Woo hoo to being able to send C to the store for wine, important :) 19 days worked out, good for you friend! Getting ready for bathing suites in Vegas, hehe :) I did invisalign, not for as long as you are going to have to, but it's really not that bad. After a while you forget that they are there, and since you are brushing your teeth after every time you eat, I have virtually no plaque at the dentist, haha. Plus it's nice that you can take them off when at fancy things like a wedding :) You'll do great!

    1. Thanks for the positive comments on Invisalign. I spent way too much time on YouTube watching people complain, and freaked myself out.

  6. I think you have accomplished a great deal Lana... as for the blog stats... mine would have been way down if I wasn't a social media fanatic and sharing over and over... I have never had super high numbers but I love that the people that I follow and that follow me are real and caring... xox Have a great March and kudos to no shopping xox

  7. I'm reading a Liane Moriarty book right now! What Alice Forgot.
Also.. 30 months.. sheesh! I don't know anything about Invisalign. Can it be taken in and out? I remember my metal braces and they were stuck in there for awhile!

    1. What Alice Forgot was one of my favorite books! Yes, the Invisalign has to come out to eat or drink, but you're supposed to wear it for at least 22 hours a day. I've been reading lots of nightmare stuff online - I don't know why I do that to myself!

    1. What? Your teeth look perfect! My ortho did tell me, the earlier you do it, the less time you have to wear them.

  11. I'm going strong on the shopping ban too! I think I've purchased 3 things: underwear (much needed!) a skirt (for work) and a purse (to replace a worn out one!) And I keep getting rid of things!

I'm just avoiding looking at my numbers. Good news is my IG numbers are growing, albeit slowly.

I've heard good things about Liane Moriarty. Haven't read any yet though. On my Goodreads list!

  12. That's awesome on the working out and not shopping! And babies...oh how I love them! Wine runs is one of the perks of having grown kids, even if it makes you feel old. It kind of balances out.

  13. Looks like you had a really full month! I just haven't been able to find my rhythm lately. Maybe I'll get it back soon. The baby is adorable. I kept my two over night on Friday and boy was I worn out. My two are just taking their first steps and it so amazing to watch them learn new things! Have a great week!

  14. I hope your tendonitis heals quickly - injuries are so frustrating when they interupt our workout intentions! So happy that T made it to State. My blog routine has been so interrupted the past few months, I'm afraid to even look at my stats! Hoping to get back into a routine and become better engaged this month!

  15. Laughing aloud at sending your son to the wine store. I remember those days! have to confess, I let my underage daughters have sips of wine coolers as treatment for their cramps! They seem to have turned out ok. Proud of your great business news and accomplishments. I have stopped looking at my blog numbers almost completely. I know that I started blogging to encourage myself to write and if anyone is reading, hey, that's an added bonus!
