Two Teens And Their Mama: March In Numbers

March In Numbers

March is in the books, and I'm starting to panic over here.  Only 2.5 months until graduation. I need deep breaths.  And distractions.

So I'm linking up with the ever lovely Deena to share what's been going on in my world, in numbers.

Let's start with 19 workouts done, again.  That seems to be my magic number. The tendonitis in my shoulder is much better, but now my bad knee is hurting again.  Sigh.  The perils of getting older.

We had a party to celebrate 2 birthdays.  My mom turned ?? and C is 21. Which surprises me every time I remember, because honestly, he was a baby yesterday.  And then that baby went to Vegas for 3 days with his friends.  I chose not to think about it, and everyone came home in one piece.

Season 3 of the high school sports year has begun, so it's back outside for track meets.  It poured rain for the first one, but sunshine prevailed during the second.  As long as I have an umbrella or a covered stadium, I'm happy.

24 days of Invisalign treatment done.  Only 888 days to go.  It's not that bad, and I've already lost 5 pounds, so there's good news.

We're 12 days into spring, the weather has been mostly lovely, and everything is blooming.

I've taken 5 outfit photos outside, all by myself, for The Blended Blog's Style Perspectives link up.  I may or may not be using a garbage can to hold my camera.  Note to self:  buy a tripod. To get those 5 pictures, I took 8,362 bad shots.  Clearly I need a remote timer too.

14 puppies & their mamas transported from Seattle to my friend's rescue group.  T and I drove these chihuahua mix puppies to Save A Mutt so they can find forever homes.  The pregnant mothers were originally found abandoned by the side of a highway in California.  I'll never understand that mentality.  These little guys were the size of hamsters when we got them, and I'm happy to report that all doggies are doing well!

2 books read!  I'm on a roll.  The Edge of the Water was just so-so, which was a big disappointment, since Elizabeth George is one of my favorite authors. Broken Open was a recommendation from Cathy at An Empowered Spirit, and it was excellent.  I'll review it soon, but if you're going through any kind of life change, I suggest this book.

I'm looking forward to April - lots of fun stuff going on.  Today is my husband's birthday, and we're headed to a college visit with the boys.  Hope you all have a great weekend!

  1. You are doing great with your workouts! I take my photos with a camera and timer but really would like a camera with a remote. So sad that those puppies were left by the highway and I'm so glad you saved them! Have a wonderful weekend!

  3. I don't even want to talk about what I think should happen to people that abandon dogs, or any kind of animal cruelty for that matter. I have no compassion for them whatsoever. I'm so happy you were able to rescue some.

We are still waiting for Spring to show up and stay. It comes for a day and then leaves.

    bisous

  8. I am doing a 2 month Invisalign post on my blog soon, I just had my appointment yesterday and I am on tray 5 of 15. Altho, after tray 15 they are removing all my buttons and doing more impressions and I will have 10 more trays! Then I should be done... SO, I am 1/5 of the way done! Your son went to Vegas for his 21st? I wouldn't want to think about it either. I went to Vegas when I turned 21, too... but, my mom and aunt and cousins were along! Haha! It was a blast and wasn't planned for my bday, just turned out to be on that date since my aunt planned it!

  11. Happy birthday to C, G and your mom! I'm glad the Vegas trip went well. My son just returned from a week of camping and hiking in Utah, and I was so happy to see the car pull into our driveway! He just told me graduation is only 9 weeks away ... Gulp! Time to get busy on graduation announcements!

  13. Oh my goodness, those puppies are so adorable! So glad they are safe and well now. And I totally here ya on all the shots needed to get a good picture. I feel like that with my kids, I have to take at least 20 to get one that is acceptable. :)
