Not A Blazer & Shop My Closet Week 19

It's Wednesday and time for another round of Style Perspectives with my friends from The Blended Blog.  I loved all the leggings looks from last week. Thanks to everyone who linked up with us and joined in the fun!

This week we're styling a blazer, jeans, tee, and sneakers, chosen by the lovely Carrie. When I went to my closet for this look, I realized that apparently I do not own one blazer. What?!? I even searched the archives, because surely every woman has a blazer, and I know I wore them to work frequently "back in the day".  But nothing.  Now that I think about it, the blazers from my career days were pretty awful - very long, with massive shoulder pads. Probably a good choice to get rid of them.  Somewhere, someone is having a Pretty In Pink moment right now.

So....how about a trench coat?  It's sort of in the blazer-y family, right?  Plus, I've been waiting to wear this since last fall when I found it for $5 at a thrift store.  I love the color and the length.  I just wish it had a hood, because that's kind of a necessary feature for a coat around here.  But, $5, so I guess I shouldn't complain.

The gray tee with lace on the bottom is old from JCrew, and of course I'm wearing my trusty Converse. This is a perfect spring look for me, as long as it's not raining.  And now I think I need a blazer.  I'm sure Carrie will have a beautiful one, so be sure to head to The Blended Blog to see her look, and find out who had the top clicked links from last week.

I'm so happy to be wearing colors, and flats, and sandals.  But I'm still cold, so there are sweaters and jackets too.  Is it summer yet?

Be sure to check out everyone's blazer style today, and come back next week for a graduation look.  I hope you'll link up below, or join along on Insta/Facebook/Twitter using #theblendedblogstyle.  We'd love to see your looks!

  1. Haha! I know I got rid of all of my 90's shoulder padded blazers that I wore to work too! Your pink tench is such a great find and it's so pretty against the grey!

  3. It totally works as a blazer! Don't feel bad for not owning a blazer, I don't own sneakers - how does that happen?! And I heart pink:)

  13. It's funny because I have about three or four blazers and I can't remember the last time I wore one, but I always still think I might need one. For a meeting? To pair with a dress? I don't know! They're fun colors.

  15. WHAT A FIND! That trench is absolutely blazerish but maybe even better. Scrumptious cotton candy color. You look just adorable. Really cute. And your shop your closet outfits are spot on, too. My fav being that patterned coral-y orange cardi outfit. Yes, ma'am!

  19. A trench totally works in place of a blazer, especially a pretty one in Rose Quartz. And for 5 bucks?! I actually own a similar Rose Quartz Trench. Love the gray lace-layered sweater with this and the Converse. I love how so many of you styled Chucks this week, as did I. But in place of a blazer, I did a kimono. =)

Thanks so much for linking up Lana. =) Enjoy the weekend, mamma!
