Wednesday Ramblings

Happy Wednesday!  Normally, I post style stuff on Wednesdays, but since I'm co-hosting with Jennie at A Pocketful of Polka Dots on Friday, I thought I'd save my outfit for then.  Be sure to head to The Blended Blog for all the pretty fashion posts, and to link up with us. This is our last week of Spring Fever Fashion, but we've got a new series on tap called "Fashion Files".  It's going to be a lot of fun - hop over for all the details!

Today I've got a bunch of randomness to share, starting with this tulip picture.  I've been working on my photography skills, and I love how this one turned out.  No idea what I did or how to recreate it though.

College boy will be home in ten days for summer break.  In some ways, I can't believe how quickly his freshman year went by, and at other times it feels like he's been gone forever. The good news is, we all survived, and I cannot wait to have him back for three months. He'll be leaving for a short study abroad to Norway in June, and he has a job as a lifeguard, so I probably won't see that much of him.  But just knowing I can hug him everyday has me so happy.

I just got back from a weekend in San Francisco with my mom and sister.  We headed to California to finally bring my sweet grandma Nelda home.  She passed away last June at the age of 96, and we'd been waiting for the chance to place her in the spot she chose for herself many years ago.  Grandma's hometown holds so many memories for me, both of her and my father, and the weekend was emotionally draining.  But everything has come full circle now, and she'll forever enjoy this beautiful view.

In all the busyness of life, I completely forgot about my blogaversary.  I can't believe it's been three years since I made the best decision to enter this crazy blogging world.  I love the friendships I've made, and I'm so appreciative of all of you for reading along.  Thanks for sticking with me!

  6. Happy blogversary! So glad to read you can enjoy daily hugs from your son all summer long. It does seem like just yesterday that he was leaving for his freshman year and now he is almost a sophomore! Your grandma certainly selected a lovely view. My parents want to be sprinkled over the Rockies when the time comes. We spent many summers together at a ranch called Sky High in Creede, Colorado. They will enjoy a spectacular view, too.
