The Blended Blog Style: Swing Dress

Welcome back to the new Blended Blog Style!  During our meet up in Toronto, we decided to stick with one theme for Fashion Wednesday's going forward.  We hope you'll join us and link up your fashion posts below, and check back each week to see if you are featured!

Weather update from Seattle, because you know you've missed them.  We've had typical June craziness - hot one day, cool and gloomy the next.  Thursday a "potent cold front with steady rain and winds" comes through.  Oh yay.

However, I shall press on with "the month of the dress", because eventually I'll be able to actually wear them.  Last week I shared a midi/maxi, and this week I'm wearing a black swing dress from Old Navy.

This military look was inspired by our newest Blended Blog sister, Shelly from The Queen In Between.  Her outfit was a little dressier, but since I work from home, Converse will do.  The swing dress is my absolute favorite thing to wear during summer, and it can be styled so many ways.

Seattle is one of the top selling cities for sunglasses, which I find strange.  My theory is that since we don't need them every day, we're constantly losing them.  See weather situation above.  I have a nice pair that I've managed to hold on to for a while, but in the summer I like to buy a few trendier, inexpensive ones.  Nordstrom has a huge selection under $15, and they're a perfect way to try something new.

  7. That is a little odd that with the cloudy days - people buy the most sunglasses - maybe its for the reflection off the rain puddles or clouds... I love your military inspired look.

  9. I am so with you! It's my favorite thing to wear in summer too. That's when I get so upset when we get delayed spring. That's less time to wear swing dresses!
