Fun Spring Trends

Happy Wednesday, friends!  Welcome to another edition of  TBB Style.    We hope you'll join us and link up your fashion posts below, and check back to see if you are featured!

A few weeks ago I attended a Seattle Style Bloggers event, and one of the panels featured up and coming designers (I was swooning over Amy Sarabi from Project Runway) discussing spring trends.  I loved what they had to say so I thought I'd share!

Unique Bags.  Anything with a fun shape, print, or material.  I love this one from Miuco, and I'll be ordering it when my shopping ban is over.
Rental Clothes.  Companies with monthly rental subscriptions are really popular this year, allowing customers to try trends without having to buy them first.  Two of my favorites are Le Tote and Armoire, which is based here in Seattle.

Daytime Sequins.  Sequins are not just for date night anymore.  Sequined pencil skirts and colorful tops are showing up at the office and around town.

Maximalism.  This is an overarching trend that has carried over from last year.  What does it mean?  Be bold.  Mix and match - patterns, colors, brands, eras.  Basically, anything goes!  Maximalism gives you a chance to explore the louder part of your style personality.

And finally, my very favorite, empowerment.  Which is actually "anti trend".  Be an individual.  Don't conform.  Wear what you want and what makes you feel good.  And if that's a totally different style every day, even better!

  1. Lov the anti trend and that's me, I get tired of the media saying what us ladies over 45 should and shouldn't wear. LOVE the bag and skirt. Have a great day most gorgeous lady!

  3. Great post, Lana! I've seen that handbag all over social media! Just not sure I want everyone knowing what's in my bag! Ha!

    1. I agree! I have a friend who makes liners for them, so I'm going to have her do a cute gingham one for me.

    1. It has been SO hard. Spring is the worst time to be on a shopping ban!

  6. Floral and stripes are always my favorite! I'm interested to see how you like the bamboo bag. When I saw them last year all I could think of was me crushing it or smacking it into something since I am so clumsy. They're back in again this year though so they must be durable! Happy Spring Lana!!!

    1. My friend has one and it seems pretty sturdy. She made a liner for it, so i'm going to have her make one for me in pink gingham.

  8. I have some daytime sequins myself! They're a bit of a thrill. And Scarlet has a thing for unique bags. So much so that I got her a special handmade, fair-trade one in exchange for a blog post. And it was just to give her that bag!

  9. Hello Lana and Hello Spring :) I had no idea unique bags are in but I surely do love them. I used to be addicted to Project Runway, I still don’t remember why I stopped watching. That a mid-length floral skirt screamed spring.

  11. I like it when people dare to be different and fun, and it's great that you've share some other bloggers who talk about trends. That purse is absolutely gorgeous. On Tuesday, I cut off all my hair, and have been wearing lots of mascara and bright red lipstick to celebrate confidence and a new day. My son told me he was glad he lived in another state.(lol) Hugs...RO
