Fall Style - Week 2
The Fall Style Challenge is moving right along, and since the weather is cooperating and being very fall-ish, I've been able to wear each day's outfits with my own little tweaks.
In looking at these pictures together, I realized that I'm spending too much shopping time at Old Navy. In the above collage the plaid tunic, gray pullover sweater, and plum cardigan all came from ON. It's time to branch out a bit.
On Sunday the guys decided they wanted to attend the International Auto Show. Much to my older son's dismay, I did not share his enthusiasm to look at cars all day. But there was glorious shopping nearby!
Hot chocolate in hand, I spent many hours perusing the fine shopping establishments of downtown Seattle. Department stores, specialty shops, boutiques.
And didn't buy a single thing.
Am I all shopped out? Do I have everything I want in my closet? Probably not. Maybe in my old age I'm finally figuring out what looks best on me, and becoming more discerning about the things I buy.
OR, more likely, I haven't learned anything at all, and just wasn't in the mood. Only time will tell.
But my husband was sure happy when he picked me up without even one shopping bag!

Ha! That'd never happen with me. I praise your ability to be so focused and disciplined.
ReplyDeleteBoots and sweater weather is back. Not my favourite time of the year.
bisous

I actually really like dressing for fall. Well, I like the cooler temps - the rain, not so much.
DeleteThe fall colours really look great on you, also, you need a shopping buddy (pick me, pick me)
ReplyDeleteYep, you're my number one pick. It's always more fun with a friend!
DeleteWhen I have a free day to shop, I never find anything either. I love the two outfits with the tall boots!

Thanks Jill. I always find cute things when I'm in a hurry though!
DeleteYou're so cute!! I agree, very discerning in my old age, picky and now if I don't love it, I don't buy it!! You clearly made GREAT choices in these outfits, love them all!!
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely getting more picky in my old age!
DeleteLove your looks, Lana! Especially the plaid and chambray with the boots. I shopped at Nordstrom's, too, this past weekend, but unlike you, I bought a few things!
ReplyDeleteOoh, what did you get? Maybe I need to go back!
DeleteYou have such a cute wardrobe, Lana! Even minus shopping bags it sounds like you and your family had a good day.
ReplyDeleteIt was a really fun day. Thanks Susan!
DeleteLoving this weeks looks!
ReplyDeleteDarlene
Thanks Darlene!
DeleteI would really love to go shopping in your closets Lana! I love the plaid with the boots! That is my kind of style (I think haha). I have to admit that I've been looking at my own wardrobe with new eyes lately and trying to figure out what works and what doesn't. I need to go on a strict diet!
ReplyDeleteSomeday we'll go shopping together Rena!
DeleteLooking beautiful!
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteLove the first collage of outfits. 2 great cardigans, beautiful plaid top and nice ivory sweater, too. Good for you for being down-town Seattle for hours and not buying anything. I probably couldn't do it, unless I had no money with me.
ReplyDeleteHave a great rest of the week, my friend!
Thanks Ada. I don't know why I couldn't find anything!
DeleteIn the first collage, I'm equally in love with all three photos. Like.. enough to emulate them all.
ReplyDeleteWell thanks! You would look great in everything!
DeleteI love your Fall Style Collection Lana! Especially the black pants + boots ensemble ( a staple in my wardrobe)!

Thanks so much Abby!
DeleteIt seems like when I have money or a gift card, I can't find anything. I just love that plaid shirt!

I'm the same way. I finally spent one from Macy's that I got for my birthday in May!
DeleteHi, Lana. Those are some great fall outfits. I especially love the chambray top/cardi/scarf. I need to put that one together for myself. I only live 10 min. away, but rarely get downtown. I am so spoiled by buying name brands at the Value Village prices I can't stand to even think about paying retail. ha Oh, and I'd definitely go with your former reasoning about lack of purchases and chalk it up to your great and growing wisdom. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Lisa! I hope I'm getting wiser with age :)!
DeleteSo funny, it seems when I have plenty of time to shop I rarely find anything. Love your looks featuring your riding boots - especially that plaid tunic look! I go through spells with Old Navy, sometimes I walk in and want All the things, and other times I'm all, "meh..."
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up with Fabulous Friday, Lana!
