Since falling in love with my Hue leggings last year, I'm always on the lookout for tunic tops that cover all the appropriate areas. As a towering giant, this isn't easy, so when I tried on this Lace/Chiffon Hem Top at Macy's, it had to come home with me. The lightweight sweater is super comfortable, and the detail on the bottom is feminine and pretty. I added the leopard scarf and boots for a little edge.
In other news, I hope everyone watched Season 14 of Project Runway. If you're interested in fashion even a little bit, this show is a must see. There's drama, suspense, talent, and Tim Gunn. He's one of my favorite human beings on the planet, and it's worth watching just for him. I mean, he stood up to Anna Wintour, which is no small feat in the fashion world.
Anyway. This season's winner is Ashley Nell Tipton, a talented 24 year old who is the first designer to win Project Runway with a plus size collection. She was drawn to fashion design because she couldn't find the kinds of bold clothes she wanted to wear.
"This industry puts a bad view on plus size women and the way we dress, and it's because we don't have options."So she's creating her own options, and they're lovely. Ashley's collection was inspired by 1950's-era Mexico City, and it was romantic, bright and daring.
"I would like everyone to embrace who they are in this world, do what they want to do, and not let anyone take that away from them!"Good advice, for personal style and life-living.

I was so happy she won - although I really liked Kelly's collection too.
DeleteI love that sweater. Very cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks Marie!
DeleteSuch a fun and cute look Lana!! That sweater is adorable, love a fun hem!! You look so pretty and Fallish!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI really like the hem too. It's different from what I normally wear.

I love her clothes, and her purple hair!
DeleteThat's a fantastic look for you, shows of your long, giant-esque legs. Muahhaha.
ReplyDeleteHahaha - they are very giant-ish!
DeleteOMG, i LOVE this tunic, girl! Actually the entire outfit rocks! And yes, HUE LEGGINGS! I should probably pick up another pair, I wear my black ones to death! XOXO
ReplyDeleteI just bought a gray pair, but haven't worn them yet.
DeleteI love how the brown and black in your scarf goes with your leggings and boots, and ties the whole outfit together beautifully! And hurray for Ashley - especially her use of floral headpieces!
ReplyDeleteThanks Susan. Aren't those headpieces spectacular? She made them all herself.
DeleteLove your outfit...you look fab!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteI love that look you're wearing and that sweater! I would love to find one in my size. I didn't see the project runway, but now I'm bummed that I didn't see it! I would love to dress in style but it is so hard to find decent clothes for women above a 14. While I know it is up to me to lose the weight it still doesn't mean we all want to wear big flowery designs that look like tents and that seems to be the only option. I think I would care a lot more about fashion if they did that! I don't know how many times I've fallen in love with something only to be told it doesn't come in my size.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree Rena - there needs to be more fashionable clothes in the plus size. That's what Ashley plans to do. It will be interesting to see where she ends up.
DeleteI was JUST writing on another blog how I need more tunics and I LOVE the one you're wearing. I'm obsessed with Hue leggings and got my sis in law addicted to them too!! I'm actually wearing one of my pairs right now! Must get more!

They're honestly like wearing pajamas all day. I just bought a gray pair too!
DeleteI remember when I first started getting into leggings, my NYC fashion sister told me that Hue were the best. I still think so!
ReplyDeleteThey hold up so well, and the wide waistband is perfect!
DeleteI love the scarf and how it tie sup the whole ensemb! What I like about her plus size collection is it is sexy and curvy girls can wear see through sexy clothes too.
ReplyDeleteCutest outfit ever! I totally want that top. I see a trip to Macy's in my future...shh ;-)
ReplyDeleteDarlene
I love your outfit!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love this look on you!! Hope to copy!!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a cute top and I love it mixed with the scarf. I used to watch Project Runway but I haven't in the last couple of years. I might just start watching again ;)
