Welcome back to a new week of Style Perspectives! Today we're joining Shaunacey to style bright pants. Be sure to head to The Blended Blog to see her look and find out who had the top two patterned blouse outfits.
Up until a few years ago when I "met" Shaunacey, I didn't own a single pair of bright pants. Mostly because I like to blend into the crowd, which is pretty much impossible when you're wearing hot pink. But she wore them so well, I was inspired to give it a try.
I'm never sure how to style these Caslon chino pants, but everything goes with denim, so a jacket seemed like a good idea. I paired the bright pants with neutrals on top to balance things out, and added a colorful necklace and flats.

Week 13 of Shop My Closet - out with winter and in with spring! Last weekend I transitioned my closet, and it felt so good to pack away the winter sweaters and boots. I loaded two huge bags with items for the thrift store. If I hadn't worn them in the last 12 weeks, it was time to go!
Thursday
My last wool sweater until fall! At least I hope so, since they're all packed away now. I love the color of this, but I'm done with heavy fabrics.
Saturday
Movie date with my husband. After last week's tarantula problem, I had my fingers crossed. Luckily, he thought I looked pretty.
Sunday
Happy Easter! My pants are pale pink, and the top has fun bell sleeves. None of which you can see in this picture. I should have had someone else take it, but they were busy eating all the chocolate bunnies.
Tuesday
I got this black and gray handkerchief top in a Stitch Fix last year. No matter how I tried, I couldn't get a good picture. You'll just have to imagine the cuteness.

DeleteThose bright pants are so pretty and I love the way you styled them. It seems a white top with denim jacket always works with colored pants!

DeleteWhat?! Pink pants...I NEED them!! Like right now! I love the whole outfit. I think I might have that white top but in dark purple/red...not sure what color it is actually. And I like the plaid shirt over the white top and jeans and cons. I think I might have to copy you this weekend...and that looks like a fun handkerchief shirt.
ReplyDeleteYou definitely need pink pants - so you :)!
DeleteI saw a pair of deep coral pants on a hanger in a store the other day and thought they were cute, but couldn't imagine myself wearing them. But now you have all inspired me, and I might just have to go try them on! Lucky you to be able to pack away your heavy sweaters - I keep my at the ready always, because you never know when you may need one here!
ReplyDeleteGo back and get them Susan!

ReplyDeleteI need to take a better picture of it - it's so cute.
DeleteI guess Shaunacey was inspiration for both of us in the bright pants dept. I also love the lilac{ish} colored sweater. You were made for all shades of pink my friend!
ReplyDeleteThank you Carrie. I definitely tend to gravitate to those colors.
DeleteYou and I think a like. Same outfit, different colors.
ReplyDeleteGreat minds think alike!
DeleteYou did a great job styling your pink brights. Love the soft, faded denim against the popping pink. Who took your pic today? You look as if you are gazing into the future. Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteHaha - if you could have only seen me getting this picture! I took it with my camera timer, sitting on a garbage can. I really need to buy a tripod!
DeleteLove the pink with white! The denim is a perfect top. It looks so springy!

DeleteHi Lana. From bright pink to pale pink, I think you wear colored pants super well. I am with you in pairing them up with a neutral,I generally stay on the safer side of things as well. Love the two white shirts and the detail on them. I will have to stop by again soon and keep my eye open for that bell sleeve top.
ReplyDeleteThank you Bojana! I do like pink!
DeleteI like how you styled them with the denim. I need to get my denim jacket out of winter storage.
