I was stumped when trying to decide what to wear for this prompt. Since I'm "shopping my closet", I had already worn my plaid shirts. And yes, there are many. The plaid scarves were all too heavy and winter-y. And then I remembered gingham, which is a type of checkered plaid, although its symmetry and single color sets it apart. See, I was paying attention in my fabrics class in college! Or I googled it. Anyway.

Look at you with week 17 of shopping your closet! I'm super impressed. Yes, gingham is a perfect option and this color is perfect for spring.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it's week 17 already - where is this year going?
DeleteI love that gingham top, so fun and fresh and you look so relaxed!! I swear, You get prettier with every post!!!
ReplyDeleteAndrea, you are the sweetest! I finally bought a tripod so maybe my pictures will improve!
DeleteThis is such a fresh and cute spring look! You look so pretty! I'm so impressed that you are on week 17 of shopping your closet!
ReplyDeleteJill
Doused In Pink
Thanks Jill. I can't believe it's week 17 either!
DeleteWonder why we all read plaid as winter wear? I did the same thing! But shopped my closet (like a good girl that I know) and found that I even had a springy plaid of my own. Love the idea that gingham is cousins with plaid and totally translates into a possibility for this prompt. Your four closet looks are darling. Have you bought anything new this year? You are so inspiring!
ReplyDeleteI know, I was totally stumped on plaid, because it felt so winter to me. I've only bought a few things, and I've been very intentional about it. But with all the pretty spring things, I'm feeling the itch!
DeleteI really like that gingham ! And I think your pose is perfect!
ReplyDeleteI take that as a great compliment coming from such a great photographer as yourself :)!
DeleteLove the colour of your gingham!!!
ReplyDeleteMerci!
DeleteI was tempted by this exact colour of gingham in a cardigan while shopping for groceries on Monday. I wish they never brought Joe Fresh into our grocery stores. It is just another temptation I need to avoid.
ReplyDeleteI love this colour on you.
bisous

Thanks Suzanne. My grocery store has a great clothing section too - I have to go all the way around so I won't be tempted!
DeleteYES for jeans that fit and feel great (and are apparently next to impossible for me to find!! lol).
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that teal color on you, so pretty!
Simply Shaunacey
So glad the 7 jeans worked for you!
DeleteLove that shirt! I stained mine last year and am on a hunt for a new one this spring...
ReplyDeleteI saw all the pretty gingham things you bought today :)!
DeleteLove the color!!
ReplyDeleteJaymie
Thanks Jaymie!
DeleteCute look on you. Your legs look a mile long!

One of the only perks of being tall, I guess!
DeleteI love your gingham shirt Lana, and I think we may have the same black flats. Super comfy, right?! It has been a year since my closet overhaul, and it has been way better, but I still feel like there is too much of the wrong stuff in there!
ReplyDeleteI'm still working on my closet overhaul - it's a long work in progress! Yep, these are the comfiest flats ever!
DeleteIs that top from ON? Because if it is we have the same one in our pix! It's a great color on you! Thanks for sharing the link for cheap jeans! I'll have to look there sometime when I need to replace my worn out pair of skinnies!

Making the Most of Every Day
I think it came from Kohl's, but it definitely reminded me of the one you wore in Vegas!
DeleteI'm not sure I've ever tried gingham. I hope I can pull it off because it's FUN and fashionable.
ReplyDeleteNow I need new jeans. I donated some old pairs.
You would look gorgeous in gingham!
DeleteI really love lighter and pastel colored plaids for the spring... or even gingham prints. This top looks great and I don't have much of this color in my closet!
ReplyDeleteCarrie

Thanks Carrie! I really like this color for spring.
DeleteGreat spring look for you, I love that blue top!
ReplyDeleteThank you friend!
DeleteBeautiful shirt - great color!
ReplyDeleteIt's one of my favorite colors for spring!
DeleteI like gingham - it is pretty color on you. I was a little stumped because I thought all my plaids were flannel - I need a spring one.

Daily Style Finds
Most of my plaids are heavy flannel too - this was my only choice!
DeleteOH never thought of Gingham! I yet to own something with that pattern...must change that. Funny, I have tried the "Alison" look every post since...and have yet to master it...one day...one day...
ReplyDeleteI know, I just can't do the Alison without looking silly.
DeleteOne day we will conquer this!
DeleteYou are so lovely! Love the gingham!!
ReplyDeleteThank you sweet Abbie!
DeleteI feel like a lot of us went for plaid alternatives this week to be more spring-like! By the way, do you know the technical difference between buffalo plaid and gingham? Just curious. Haha.
ReplyDeleteThey're pretty much the same - except buffalo plaid is always red and black.
DeleteLove the springy gingham! And those jeans are awesome on you!! YAY for 17!!!! weeks of shopping your closet! Go you!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Katie! I don't think there's any end in sight!
DeleteOMG 4 full months of shopping your closet and still putting together great unique outfits. I love that Spring plaid shirt. I need a nice gingham shirt badly. I just love plaid. =)
