I took this Ellen Tracy dress to Vegas with me last month. I love the bright, Monet-like print, it's stretchy and super comfortable, and it has pockets. Anything with pockets is a win.
I thought it would be fun to share a picture of what I actually wore to my own graduation, back in 1985. However, this is all I could find. Photography was not my parent's strong suit. Underneath this lovely blue gown is an equally charming white, long sleeved, high necked dress. Apparently I was headed to a convent when school was over.

I've seen you in that dress! yay! I love the colour palette on it too and it does remind me of Monet. Now I miss you more. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteSo fun to see you even with the dodgy photography from back when DLSRs didn't exist : )

You are so pretty in that dress! Love the pattern and the colors. And I'll cry right along with you when your son graduates...sniff, sniff... Darn I should have posted a picture of what I wore to graduation too. I think it was a white dress..because our gowns were white and see through..
ReplyDeleteI love that dress on you Lana. Great choice.
ReplyDeleteI wish I would have thought to add a throwback picture in there. But this dress is stunning on you! Perfect for your son's graduation :)
ReplyDeleteYour comment about the convent made me chuckle - oh, the 80's style. You look great in that graduation day look!

I absolutely love your dress - and the yellow cardigan. This theme is helpful this week, as I have yet to decide what to wear for my son's graduation. (A lot depends on the weather that day!) I graduated from a small American high school in Spain - we wore long dresses instead of caps and gowns. My mom made mine, and I loved it - although it covered a lot of skin by today's standards! ;0
ReplyDeleteThe dress is fantastic! Totally eye-catching! Wonderful for a day in which you may need a lot of tissues and/or deep breaths.
ReplyDeleteGlad you were detoured from the convent! Good gravy, that dress and cardi combo are so YOU!! Truly perfect. Happy, feminine, uplifting. Love this on you. I can see all of that 21 Day Fix workout and now the healthier eating paying off on you. Look at that waist! Wow!
ReplyDeleteThis one is my fave look this week! Love the color combo and the patterns on your dress. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou look so pretty!! I love the flashback photo!

Yes, that is such a pretty dress and perfect on you. And yes, you can be proud and broken-hearted at the same time. I completely understand.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your son for graduating soon. You will look so pretty in the beautiful blue dress. I love it with the yellow cardigan and I love that it has pockets. Also, that flashback graduation photo is awesome.

I don't have any graduations to go to this year, but this dress is def. perfect! I love how colorful it is and the blue/yellows together! Hope you hold it together during graduation! I know I'll be a mess... I am a mess just at the start of each new school year!

I love your pick for grad. It's fancy but not too fancy. Trendy but classic cut. The cardigan is perfect for a warmer option. I can't imagine having my girls graduating. Some days are exhausting and I want a break badly from them but overall I can't imagine them not needing me in the same way. Beat of luck and take Kleenex.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter graduates from college in June and I understand totally your mixed feelings. Here's to us! Love your dress.
ReplyDeleteThat dress is so pretty; love the colors and shape. You will look beautiful for her graduation in this :). I also love that you shared a pic of your own graduation! So neat.
ReplyDeleteFound you through A Pocketful of Polka Dots link up, by the way.
