The Blended Blog Style: Mid Length Dress
Welcome to the new Blended Blog Style! During our meet up in Toronto, we decided to stick with one theme for Fashion Wednesday's going forward. We hope you'll join us and link up your fashion posts below, and check back each week to see if you are featured!
Basically, all of this means that I now have to decide how to dress myself, without prompts from my fashionable friends. Bummer! To get ready for this task, I did a monumental clean out of my closet last weekend. I was in the mood to get rid of stuff, and I'm done with keeping things just to keep them, so I blocked out the entire day and got to work.
In the end I had a huge pile for the thrift store, and another one for Thred Up. I should have taken a picture, but then I'd see things I got rid of and have regrets. Out of sight, out of mind is probably best.
So now I have a clean, organized closet. My plan is to wear what I have for awhile, or at least until the Anniversary sale gets here. But then no more shopping after that. Probably. Anyway...
Last year was "the summer of the dress" for me, and I loved it, so June is now "the month of the dress". Dresses are so cool and comfy during warm months.
I'm starting with this Octavia mid length dress that I rediscovered during the closet clean out. Truthfully, it's probably a maxi, but because I'm a thousand feet tall, it hits me right at the ankle. It's flowy and fun, but a little bit big, so it may not make the cut.
I wore it with a pair of tassel earrings that my sister passed on. I haven't decided if I like this trend on me. These are a bit heavy, but I'm a fan of the mixed metals. We'll see.

DeleteGorgeous dress. I'm so envious of those that can wear a maxi and find them easily. I'm 5ft. It's a challenge
ReplyDeleteSounds like we have the opposite problem, Anna!

Thanks Jaymie!
DeleteI was going to ask if it was a maxi dress! On me, it would be.
ReplyDeleteWhatever it is, it's gorgeous on you! I have trouble with mid length dresses, because I think I look frumpy in them.
Honestly, I think this one makes me look a little frumpy. Maybe because it's a little big? I'm not sure I love it.
DeleteI personally am a fan of the dress! I like the color and I think dresses like this are so great for travelling and being comfortable at the same time. And they always look a little fancy.

Thank you Kristin. It's definitely comfy!
DeleteI just got a thing from Thred Up to go through my closet too. I like the dress on you! And the earrings, but I don't know if I could do them if they were too heavy.
ReplyDeleteYah, they're pretty heavy. We'll see if Thred Up actually pays me anything!
DeleteCan I just say that I have the opposite problem? Today I am wearing a dress that hits me at the ankle but that I think is a midi. Oh well. The ankle dress looks great on you!
ReplyDeleteYep, we definitely have opposite problems :)!
