Style Perspectives: Summer Skirts

Happy Wednesday, friends!  Welcome to another edition of  TBB Style.    We hope you'll join us and link up your fashion posts below, and check back to see if you are featured!

Today we're talking about summer skirts.  I love wearing dresses and skirts as soon as the weather warms up and I can actually get out my sandals.  I was even thinking about doing a "30 days of summer dresses" hashtag on IG, but maybe that's too many.  15 days?  A week?  Thoughts?

Back to the skirts.  A good maxi skirt is perfect for summer events or a date night out.  I bought this Chelsea and Theodore maxi with every intention of keeping it.  I loved the colors and the twirl factor.  The only problem?  It weighed approximately 50 pounds and had so much volume I was pretty sure I'd trip and kill myself.  Had to be returned, but not before a picture.

Apparently I'm into color this summer, and I can't wait to wear this J Crew skirt.  I will tell you that it's a little shorter than it looks online (or maybe that's just me, being the jolly green giant), but the colors are brighter.

For a dressier occasion, pencil skirts are perfect.  I call this the "Deena Aritzia Special", and oh is it comfy!  Like wearing sweatpants, but even better.

What are your go to skirts this summer?

  3. That such a bummer that you had to return that gorgeous maxi, Lana!! But I totally know what you mean about it weighing tons!!
As for the shorter skirt---being tall, you should probably buy a dress extender!! (http://www.graceandlace.com/lace-extenders/lace-dress-extenders/) They are a godsend for too short skirts and dresses!!

  6. I can ONLY wear pencil skirts. I look dowdy in maxi skirts and short ones always make me nervous although the one above is so cute! I'd wear shorts under it.

  11. This style of skirt can complement any body type. They are most popular with the cheerleaders and the pleats really do add accent to their uniforms. African Attire

  12. You can show off legs and arms, but let the dress flow to conceal your midsection. Avoid spandex dresses that are figure hugging because they will end up emphasizing your tummy which is what you are trying to avoid. stoned emoji
