My New Happy: Calling All Camo

Calling All Camo

Today we're talking about camo, which is one of my new favorite prints.  Honestly, in the past I wasn't a huge fan - it made me think of hunting or the military.  But I finally gave in because there are so many cute styles!

Last month when I visited Deena in Saskatchewan, she arranged a photo shoot with the adorable and very talented Larissa of Lovely Roots Photography.  Bo from Bo's Bodacious Blog joined us, and we had the best time.  The weather was perfect, the scenery was beautiful, and it was so much fun.

I am not a natural model, but Larissa was patient and sweet and worked with my awkwardness until I felt more comfortable.  She spoiled me, and now I don't want to ever take my own pictures again.

Which brings me to my favorite quote this week from Stacy London's book:  "Style is a way to play with possibility.  It's about seeing how the path to getting there is always available to you.  Stop fighting reality.  Accept what's yours.  Get out of your own way and sparkle like crazy instead".

My t shirt came from the cutest store in Saskatoon and features the Saskatchewan Prairie Lily.  The jacket is from Sanctuary, and I love the ruffled sleeves.  Last spring I saw it in a local boutique for $120, and then found it at Nordstrom Rack for $30.  Which is practically free, right?

Truth be told, this is what I looked like most of the evening.  The perils of long hair and wind.

Happy Wednesday, friends.  And remember, go out this week and sparkle like crazy!

  1. Love your photos!! I feel so awkard taking photos, too, so that's probably the main reason I"m not a fashion blogger, but the landscape in your pics are just gorgeous! Just like you, love! And that jacket!! I'm so jealous because I'm a ruffle girl, but who knew camo AND ruffles, right? And such a steal! Enjoy your day!
