Today we're talking about camo, which is one of my new favorite prints. Honestly, in the past I wasn't a huge fan - it made me think of hunting or the military. But I finally gave in because there are so many cute styles!
Last month when I visited Deena in Saskatchewan, she arranged a photo shoot with the adorable and very talented Larissa of Lovely Roots Photography. Bo from Bo's Bodacious Blog joined us, and we had the best time. The weather was perfect, the scenery was beautiful, and it was so much fun.
I am not a natural model, but Larissa was patient and sweet and worked with my awkwardness until I felt more comfortable. She spoiled me, and now I don't want to ever take my own pictures again.
Which brings me to my favorite quote this week from Stacy London's book: "Style is a way to play with possibility. It's about seeing how the path to getting there is always available to you. Stop fighting reality. Accept what's yours. Get out of your own way and sparkle like crazy instead".
My t shirt came from the cutest store in Saskatoon and features the Saskatchewan Prairie Lily. The jacket is from Sanctuary, and I love the ruffled sleeves. Last spring I saw it in a local boutique for $120, and then found it at Nordstrom Rack for $30. Which is practically free, right?
Truth be told, this is what I looked like most of the evening. The perils of long hair and wind.
Happy Wednesday, friends. And remember, go out this week and sparkle like crazy!

Love your photos!! I feel so awkard taking photos, too, so that's probably the main reason I"m not a fashion blogger, but the landscape in your pics are just gorgeous! Just like you, love! And that jacket!! I'm so jealous because I'm a ruffle girl, but who knew camo AND ruffles, right? And such a steal! Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteI feel so awkward getting my picture taken. A good photographer definitely helps. Check out Sanctuary at Nordstrom Rack - they have other jackets!

ReplyDeleteThank you! The wind was not my friend that day!

DeleteI’m a camo girl. One of my favorite pair of pants are my Kahi print camo pants, I always get compliments when I wear them. I’m loving the fun sleeves on this jacket, I would totally wear it.
ReplyDeleteThat was my favourite day ever. You look stunning.
ReplyDeleteLooming fabulous in your camo. Camo isn't for me (I'm more a cami girl!) But you youngsters are really rocking the camo look. Amazing photography, weren't you lucky to get that photo shoot whilst on your blogger-meet. Hugs, x.
ReplyDeleteHi Lana, I love how cute you look in camo jacket! Yes it's so in style and I have a similar jacket I bought a few years ago that I love.
