Canada Plaid

Happy Wednesday and welcome to Fall Fashion Frenzy with The Blended BlogToday we're talking about plaid, one of my very favorite prints.

When I visit somewhere new, I like to purchase a clothing item that will remind me of my trip.  I've tried to explain to my husband that this is a "thing", but I don't think he's buying it.

When I visited Deena in Saskatchewan last month, she took me to the most adorable store that had plants and hardware and pretty clothes.  I think there was other stuff (a cafe, maybe?), but I was distracted by this buffalo plaid jacket.  I prayed it would fit, because I really wanted it to be mine.

I've renamed it Canada Plaid because I feel like an up north prairie girl in this outfit.  Give me a beer and clam - and a much higher tolerance for cold weather - and maybe I can pass.

What does Stacy London have to say about prints?  "Print jackets are another easy and flattering way to add patterns to your wardrobe without going overboard.  Prints allow you to convey your personality.  Just as your general guide:  florals = feminine; abstracts = modern and artistic; geometrics = strong and authoritative."

I'm not sure I consider myself authoritative, but my shirt says I'm the boss, so...

See?  Just two Canadian gals, hanging around in our Canada Plaid.  Thank you again to the talented Larissa of Lovely Roots Photography for the amazing photo session.

  6. You and Deena are precious together! I love seeing the obvious bonds of your close friendship! What a great jacket too that is not only so pretty but also functional. Be the boss woman that you are and you are 100 % correct -buying an item from a place you visit is totally a thing! I do it too!!!

  8. I love it! And I get that with clothing. I got a blue and black Alaskan Plaid (what I'm calling it) flannel shirt in Anchorage, and I always look at it and smile.

  9. You visited at the right time. Believe me, you don't want that tolerance for the cold. I just told D. that you two rocked the buffalo plaid so well, that I am rethinking my stance of not buying it because it's too "stereotypical of Canada". Love this outfit.
