Happy Wednesday and welcome to Fall Fashion Frenzy with The Blended Blog. Today we're talking about booties, the greatest footwear invention of modern times.
Up until recently, I didn't own many pairs of shoes. They were never my jam, and I tended to wear the same ones over and over. I know, Deena is currently swooning somewhere up north. But now I've seen the light, and suddenly I'm in love with all the shoes. Especially booties. Especially for fall.
They're pretty much the perfect thing for your feet this time of year, because they go with everything.
Dresses...
Slacks...
And jeans.
Currently, I'm eyeing these lovelies.
And animal print would be fun.
Have you noticed that all my booties are flat? My entire life, I've felt too tall, so I buy flat shoes. I'm always scrunching down in pictures and seeing myself as the jolly green giant among a sea of lovely, regular height women. Stacy London wouldn't be very happy with me. She says "tall women should just never, ever look like they are apologizing for their height". So I'm going to stop apologizing, quit scrunching down, and see what happens. Maybe I'll even buy a pair of booties with a 3" heel. Maybe.

We are going to get you heeled boots, girl!! You are amazing and should embrace your height----lord knows, everyone else wishes they were tall. I couldn't be a Rockette because I'm too short!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm glad you've gotten the shoe/boot bug. They really are a great thing in life. Just think, you can gain 5 pounds and they still fit!!

Ha - I'm going to look for a pair! I've been this tall since 6th grade, so you'd think I'd be used to it by now. It's handy for reaching things on high shelves!
DeleteEmbrace your height and wear it proud! I do kind of love the fact that booties can be flat and still look fabulous and I am actually thinking I need a pair of flat, little booties as mine all have block heels.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bo! I think I'll look for a pair with block heels - they seem easier to walk in!
DeleteWell, then I would say my work is done because I have clearly rubbed off on you :) Let's go shoe shopping next week!
ReplyDeleteYes!
DeleteYes!! Stand tall, especially next to me and Deena next week!! I ONLY buy tall shoes, to make up for my height. Hehe. Ya girls are never happy. But I need to add some more booties to my closet...shhhh, don’t tell Mr.
ReplyDeleteTime for bootie shopping next week!
DeleteYes, you quit scrunching down and embrace your height! Own it, girl! You have a great selection of booties and I enjoyed seeing the different styling options. Love the strappy boots you are eyeing. :0
ReplyDeleteI need to work on it for sure! I love those strappy booties too.
DeleteI think I need to add those animal print ones to my collection!
ReplyDeleteHow tall are you? I say stand proud of your height! I am super jealous of tall girls!
I'm 5'9, which isn't THAT tall but it feels like it. I've been this height since 6th grade so you'd think I'd be used to it by now!
DeleteThis is my first time getting booties! I got these rocking motorcycle booties. I'll report back when they come!
ReplyDeleteYes - please do! I want to see them!
DeleteStacy is right, you should never apologize for that beautiful height! I actually can't wear booties, because they look terrible on my short legs, so rock those booties with your long legs loud and proud!

ReplyDeleteI often hear Stacey London's voice in MY head, too! Especially when I opt for the COMFORTABLE option - boy did that get her goat when people dared to prioritize COMFORT!
ReplyDeleteI remember when ankle booties first came out and we were all like "what are THOSE?!" It was quite a few years before I found them even tolerable...and a few more before I thought I might actually LIKE them, and now, like you said, I can't imagine life without them!
Thanks for linking up with the Fabulous Friday link-up!
