Friday Loves

Happy Friday!  Today I'm linking up with Deena at The Blended Blog for a new series, and sharing some things I'm loving from around the internet.  Head on over and link up your best post of the week, or find a few great reads to keep you busy on this winter weekend!

I've wanted to try using chalk paint, and Jenny from Refresh Living shared an easy tutorial on how to turn an old window into a chalkboard.  She's also figured out a foolproof way to write perfect chalkboard lettering, and where to look for old windows.  I would love something like this in my kitchen, to write the week's menu, or leave sarcastic loving notes for my family.

Finding the right jeans is a struggle, and I'm always hesitant to buy them online. Enter Fitcode.com.  After taking a short "fit quiz", the site prepares personalized recommendations based on your fit, not your size.  You can browse denim right on their site, and click to purchase through their brand partners.  I found a pair of 7 For All Mankind jeans that fit me perfectly, all without having to leave my house!

Have you signed up for The Blended Blog's virtual book club yet?  It's not too late!  What a great way to discover new books and meet some friends in the chat room once a week.  Go here to sign up.

Today, America inaugurates our 45th president, Donald Trump.  Whatever the future holds, I will always believe in Democracy.  Beth at Boomer Highway wrote a great post that put together quotes from famous leaders about the importance of Democracy in our lives.  She pledges to keep believing in our freedoms...and I do too.

My friend Sarah from Foxy's Domestic Side shared five things she learned from her year long hair challenge.  Sarah has the most gorgeous hair, and has taught herself how to style it a gazillion different ways.  I, on the other hand, do my hair exactly the same, every day.  Blah.  I love all her tips, and maybe someday I'll figure out how to do a simple french braid.  Maybe.

And while this isn't an internet love, if you haven't seen La La Land, go see it this weekend.  You can thank me later!

  9. Hidden Figures is great and so is Fences. Loved La La, too. The teacher in me loves writing on a white board or chalk board. The one you featured is darling.
