Hooray, hooray - it's time for the Fall Style Me Pretty Challenge. This is very good news for two reasons. First, I don't have to figure out what to wear, since Alison sends me an email every night with the next day's outfit - it's like having a virtual stylist. Plus, the weather has definitely turned fall-ish here, so I'm actually able to wear the pieces in the challenge.
Over the next few weeks I'll show some of the outfits Alison has put together. This was day two, and I'm loving my new military jacket. I was a little worried about wearing brown boots with black jeans, but I listened to Alison, and she was right - I think it looks pretty good.
On day one she had us pair boyfriend jeans with booties. This was definitely outside my comfort zone, but I decided to go for it and I got several compliments on the look.
During the next three weeks I'll be linking up with these lovely ladies who are doing the Challenge with me. Be sure to check out their blogs to see how they styled Alison's looks. Thank you to Deena for the beautiful graphic - she is so talented!

Love the pink sweater outfit! Would love to see the grey put with a pop of color in the scarf. Have a great day! You're rockin the new looks!
ReplyDeleteThanks - you too!
DeleteI can't decide which of these two outfits I like best - they both look great!
ReplyDeleteI got up and threw on the same comfy clothes as yesterday, so I could get a hot breakfast made for my son before he left to take the PSAT. Not an every morning occurrence, but I thought he should be well fueled!
Now though, you have motivated me to upgrade my outfit! :)
My son took the PSAT today too!
DeleteI love th boyfriend jeans and booties in you. You rocked it!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you - I really liked that outfit, surprisingly!
Deletewhere'd you get your pink cardigan? i looked for one (that's my favorite color) but the only one i found was at loft and had wool in it which i'm allergic too
ReplyDeleteOld Navy - within the last few weeks - and only $19.99.
DeleteBoth of them look good! We still don't have consistently cool weather here, but I look forward to wearing fall clothes soon! :)
ReplyDeleteWe have definitely jumped right into fall temps here - oh well, at least the clothes are fun!
DeleteI would have also resisted the booties with the jeans but I really like it on you! It is just a whisper saying 'Yes I am stylish'!
ReplyDeleteLove this! Thank you so much.

Thank you - I always need an extra layer because I'm cold.
DeleteLove the pink sweater on you. and the plaid scarf, black jeans and brown boots looks great. I was in the same camp as you, but I've been told otherwise that you can in fact wear brown and black...who knew!
ReplyDeleteI was definitely unsure about the brown with black - but I think it looks pretty good!
DeleteYou are rocking the daily assignments! Great job! Have to agree with the thumbs up for the pink.

Both of these looks are just fabulous on you, Lana! Hard to say which I like more. I really like your military jacket and have one on my wish list.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I wear my military jacket all the time and it goes with just about everything!
DeleteGreat outfits, friend. I especially like the distressed jeans. I was thinking I was too old for them but they really look fantastic on you {and I'm older than you} so I think I might get some and see if I can pull it off. You encourage me!
ReplyDeleteThanks Carrie. Honestly, you would look great in anything. I was a little unsure about the distressed jeans too, but I got them for such a good price, I decided to give it a try.
DeleteI love these challenges for the reasons you mentioned - a virtual stylist and a push to try a few on trend items. I was skeptical about the booties but am loving them. You look great!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I have tried so many new things because of Alison's challenges.
DeleteOoh, I like both! The pink sweater is striking.
ReplyDeleteI also love military jackets and even after I discovered that I'm a "winter" and earth tones look terrible on me, I never threw away my army green jackets. They bring out my green eyes!
I think you would look good in anything! I love my military jacket.
DeleteI like simple but really cute outfit!! This I could wear something like this all day long and feel comfortable and great for any occasion. And you look great!!!!! I gonna be 40 this fall, so I was going crazy, thinking that only 20 year girls do blogs and fashion! :)))) But now I see lots of women taking care of themselves, dressing nicely and blogging!!!! Thank U!!!!!
ReplyDeleteUs 40 and over stylish gals need to stick together! So glad to have found your blog!
DeleteThese are both really cute! I like the brown boots and black pants together!
ReplyDeleteThanks - I was really happy with them in the end.
DeleteYou are doing wonderful so far. That first outfit is so perfect for Fall. =)
ReplyDeleteLove, Love, Love that top outfit. Your scarf looks amazing with that jacket!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jordan. I've had it forever, but figured I'd pull it out for the challenge.
DeleteLove the military style jacket and the color of the cardigan! Great fall outfits! Hope you are having a wonderful day!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
DeleteAnd you are looking pretty! Very sleek. I'm reminded of some jackets I need to get out and wear this year ... closet diving is great exercise. Isn't it?
ReplyDeleteMost definitely. I'm a big fan of jackets and sweaters because I'm always so cold!
DeleteLove your military jacket!! Where did you get it from?
ReplyDeleteThank you! I got it at Kohl's.
DeleteYou look awesome in both looks!! Love you scarf and booties!!
ReplyDeleteBoth outfits look great, Lana. Since I began blogging my eyes have been opened to trends and styles I would have never even been aware of and it's fun trying them. I now love wearing shades of brown with black.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week. :)
Thank you Lisa. I loved the black and brown together - who knew?
DeleteThanks for sharing with Visible Monday, this is a great look!
ReplyDeleteI know it probably isn't your goal to be mistaken for a teenager, but it could happen in this outfit. Just a very sophisticated on. I always like this vibe on just about any women ... casual and polished at the same time. Especially on you. Your legs go on forever and you look so good. Excellent.
ReplyDeleteWell, thank you very much! They are good for running and reaching things :)!
