It is Sunday afternoon at 4pm, and it's been a long weekend. A good weekend, but busy, emotional and exhausting.
I'm sitting at my computer, trying to figure out what to write about. Nothing is coming.
And then I realized - today it is six months since I started this blog. A blog I had dreamed about long before I finally hit the publish button for the first time.
I have no idea where this journey will take me.
What I do know is that in six short months I have grown, as a writer and a person. I have made wonderful new friends. I have been inspired to let go of some of my anxieties, and I have learned that I am not alone on this adventure through midlife. I have found assurance that my journey will go on, happily, once my boys leave the nest.
I'm so grateful that I pushed aside my fear and published that first post six months ago.
I know that I am exactly where I'm supposed to be.

DeleteGood for you for finding a way to positively express yourself. I see the blogging world exploding as we age. I wish my father could have benefited from having a blog like you Lana. He could have told all of his stories without interruption and rolled eyes and, "We've heard it before!" He would have felt more validated by the bloggers comments that don't challege his viewpoints or opinions. He could have left his legacy as he saw it in his words. Have you ever thought about transcribing a blog for your grandpa? The time and effort for someone else would be immense but rewarding and interesting to read.
ReplyDeleteI agree, it's such a wonderful way to tell our stories. Because my grandpa doesn't live close by it would be hard to get all of his stories, but it's a great idea.
