The Winter/Holiday Style Me Challenge began on Monday, and I'm linking up once again with my fashionable blogger friends to share some of the outfits Alison has for us this time around. My fashion photographer (AKA my older son) has been busy with school and work this week, so I apologize for the dimly lit selfies.
I really like this cable knit scarf and dressy sweatshirt look. Alison suggested a sweater and fur scarf, but I shopped my closet and came up with this instead. The scarf is from Old Navy, and it's very thick and warm, perfect for a cold winter day.
Day two. WHY have I waited so long to try a pair of leggings? I was afraid I would look like a Christmas elf, but with the long tunic sweater, vest, and boots it's not too bad, and I don't think they'll be hiring me at the North Pole after all. I worked, ran errands, and went to a sporting event in this outfit, and I was so comfortable. The Hue leggings have a wide waistband and are super warm. Actually, maybe a little too warm. I didn't have time to change before my son's swim meet, and I almost had heat stroke at the pool! The sweater tunic came from Kohl's, and is long enough to cover the, ahem...important parts on this 5'9" mama.

Hue leggings are the best! Love both of these layered looks! You look so chic and cozy!

Thanks Jill. I may need to get another pair of Hue leggings in another color!
DeleteGreat outfits. I love the boot socks addition to outfit 1. Good for you for trying leggings, I promise you wont look back!
ReplyDeleteI really like boot socks - as long as my feet are warm, so am I!
DeleteI love the fur scarf. I just got one last week and can't stop wearing it.
ReplyDeleteBoth of these looks are great. Really like that white vest too.

Thanks Suzanne. I think my hubby is getting tired of scarves, but they keep me so warm!
DeleteLayering at its finest Lana!!! Wishing you the best of the holidays too!!

Thanks Rebecca. Layering is a must do for me to stay warm in Seattle!
DeleteLOVE that legging look on you!
ReplyDeleteThank you friend! I wasn't sure about them, but I may never take them off.
DeleteLove the leggings on you! That outfit is my favorite of the two! You rock it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah!
DeleteYou look adorable!
ReplyDeleteAww...thanks!
DeleteNice outfits! I love clothes from Kohls.
ReplyDeleteMe too. I think half my wardrobe comes from there!
DeleteHaha, elf, no way!! You are toooo stylish. I have the EXACT same vest from Kohl's and I LOVE it. I'm kind of glad I never found the pooofy one! This year is the first year I have done leggings. I don't think I'll ever go back!
ReplyDeleteMe either - I think I need a few more pairs!
DeleteHa! You definitely don't look like a Christmas elf. More like a stylish lady!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I was honestly a little worried!
DeleteI really hesitate on leggings, too, but I have seen them styled so nicely of late. I really like this look on you with the tunic and vest - so winter chic!
ReplyDeleteI always liked them on everyone else, so I figured, why not. And I was pleasantly surprised!
DeleteIt's awesome. It's making me realize that winter doesn't have to mean not stylish. Hue Leggings are the best, according to my fashionista NYC sister.
ReplyDeleteI would definitely recommend Hue - so comfy and warm!
Deleteyou look awesome in the leggings! Also, are you shrinking??? You look super thin in these pics?? I'm having the opposite issue lately ;)
ReplyDeleteNot shrinking, sadly. I think it's the mirror I bought - it seems to have magical powers. Plus, these two outfits didn't emphasize "the girls", which always makes me look smaller. But thanks :)!
DeleteI just ventured out of the house in my first pair of leggings last week! Hope I looked as good as you do in yours!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you did! Aren't they comfy?
DeleteCute! I love the socks peeking over the top of your boots. I'm a fan of leggings. The trick is to buy ones that are not too thin. I'll have to check out Kohl's for a tunic sweater. That's on my "capsule" list.
ReplyDeleteYou will love the one from Kohl's. Just the right weight, and the colors are really cute.
DeleteGirl, you were BORN to wear leggings.I have bought two pairs of HUE leggings and need to try them. But I can relate to worrying that they might make us look like elves. You can certainly put that worry aside. I am lovin' me that white cable knit sweater, too. And your Disney pictures never get old. Just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks Leslie, you're so sweet! Get those HUE leggings on!
DeleteNice outfits, Lana! I think the first outfit looks casual and put together. Like to peek of boot socks. Yes, leggings are the bomb. You and Deena always have great things to say about Hue, so I may have to take the plunge on those.
ReplyDeleteI was a little hesitant on the leggings, but they really are so comfy and nice. Might need to get another pair in a different color.
