Hot Buttered Rum Times Three

Today is National Hot Buttered Rum Day.  Lordy, there's a day for everything, it seems. In general, I don't enjoy alcohol very much, but on a cold winter's night, a hot spiked beverage can be glorious.  Throw in a little vanilla ice cream, and it's heavenly.  I found this recipe for Creamy Hot Buttered Rum on the blog Delightful E Made.  I will definitely be making this at my house this weekend.

While doing a little research, I discovered that Yankee Candle makes a hot buttered rum version.  I bet it smells wonderful.

There is also a string band called Hot Buttered Rum.  I listened to a few of their songs, and they're pretty good.  Sort of a country/bluegrass sound.

Whether you celebrate with a drink, a candle or some music, happy Hot Buttered Rum day!

And finally, a little love for my team since they're playing in the NFC Championship game tomorrow.  Go Seahawks!

  1. While my stomach wouldn't agree with drinking hot buttered rum, I love the smell...that candle would be on all the time. I love 'warm' scents. Go Seahawks! We are HUGE fans up here!

  5. Mmm.. virgin drinks for me but I can get behind all of it! And Yankee Candle headquarters are near my house. Sometimes you can smell the candles from the highway when they're making them.
