Hippity Hoppity, Easter's On Its Way

Easter is ten days away.  What!?!

I love everything that Easter represents, but I must admit that I have very few decorations to commemorate this season.  I picked up this little bunny at Pier One a few weeks ago.

Here's his big brother.

This sign came from Wal-Mart.  I was surprised to find some really cute decorations there this year.

And my very favorite, the Lenox Easter Tree.

One of the things I really miss as the boys have gotten older is coloring Easter eggs.  As I've read through blogs the last few weeks, I have seen many different egg coloring techniques.  I really like these marbled eggs from The Practical Mom.  So pretty and simple to make.

I probably wouldn't have been able to get my boys on board with making these though. When they were little, their main objective was to see how many different colors they could dip the egg into, hoping to end up with the ugliest egg of all.  As they got a little older they were more interested in making pretty colors, but patience was definitely an issue.

Come back on Saturday when I'll share a recipe for the most delicious Mexican Egg Casserole - an Easter brunch tradition at our house!

  1. We haven't colored Easter eggs in a few years. I miss that! Your Lenox tree is beautiful!

  2. I love those bunnies! cute and funky and fun - now I need to get some (we don't do Easter decorations in Australia but I think it may be just starting to catch on - I could be a trendsetter!)

  3. Those bunnies are so cute! If they go missing, you may or may not be able to find them at my house. I love when people decorate for holidays, but always have trouble coming up with where to store everything! We haven't done the color Easter egg thing. I guess we never really did it at my house, so I haven't really introduced it to my kids...

    1. My mom always let us color eggs, but then she made them into egg salad right away! One time we took a few for an "easter egg" hunt, but we forgot where one was. Needless to say, we found it a few weeks later - by smell!

The Lenox tree is lovely. I can imagine it is so meaningful and fun to take that out every year - symbolizing warmth and spring and holidays.

  8. I love your marbled eggs idea - I have to introduce my kids to it! My son, who's 4 will love to do that sort of abstract thing. Thanks for the hint.

  10. Hi Lana. I love your Lenox tree - did all the ornaments come with it, or were they purchased separately? Great photos of your boys, and the bunnies are really cute!

    1. Thanks Susan. The Lenox tree came with all the ornaments, but I think I've broken a few over the years!

  11. I love your bunny decorations! Coloring eggs with my son is impossible in this household, unfortunately. My son hates eggs and he claims he can still smell them even when the shell is still on. *sigh* Thanks for sharing your decors, Lana!

    1. My older son was the same way about carving pumpkins when he was little. He hated the smell and refused to do it!
