Sharing Some Gratitude Part Ten

March has flown by and it's time for another look at what I'm grateful for this month.

--I'm grateful that my mom came to visit.  I love this lady so much, and I really wish she would move back home.  When she's here we have such a great time, but for now I'll just have to make do with quarterly visits.

I promise - we were stopped at a loooong stoplight when I took this!

--I'm grateful that this guy turned twenty.  This is a hard one to be grateful for because I really hate the fact that he's growing up so fast.  But he has turned into such a wonderful young man.  Last weekend we took him to Vancouver BC to see a concert for his birthday.  Fun!  I'm not the mom to two teens anymore, which makes the name of this blog somewhat irrelevant.  Not sure what to do about that!

--I'm grateful that my new crown is in and my taxes are done.  Enough said about that.

--I'm grateful that spring is here.  Although our winter was pretty mild and sunny (we didn't see a single snowflake), it was so wonderful to open the windows today and let the fresh air inside.  Everything is in bloom, and hopefully we'll get lots of fruit from our pear apple tree this year.

--I'm grateful to be reading books again.  Which sounds ridiculous, because I love to read. But in the last year I've spent all of my free time reading blogs, commenting on blogs, and working on my blog.  I realized this month how much I miss reading a BOOK.  So I'm trying to work at least thirty minutes of book reading into each day, and I'll be starting with these three lovelies.

I hope you find what you are grateful for this month!

  2. My goal is to read one book a month. Sometimes it doesn't happen and sometimes I read two or three! Your apple tree is so pretty! Happy Birthday to your son!

  6. Hi Lana, oh I love all the things that you are grateful for and enjoyed reading them! I too LOVE to read books and had stopped due to blogging and knit/crocheting. I promised myself last summer that I would start again and I'm so glad that I did. My daughter and husband have done the same too. Hope you have a nice Friday and weekend.

  7. Grinning here at the blogging efforts you relayed. How very true. It's neverending, is it not? However, am delighted to see you are carving out some reading time. I loved the Casual Vacancy. And am delighted you came on up to see the concert. Probably passed you on the street and didn't even know it! May the next visit from you mom speed up quicker than quick.

    1. I just saw that they've made Casual Vacancy into a movie, so I better get busy. Next time we go to Vancouver we'll have to have coffee!

  8. What a good looking Mom and Son! I can't understand how March did fly past when I usually think it such a dreary long month. It must be the spring weather we have been enjoying. I like Liane Moriarty 's books. I did not care for the JK Rowling book but read it because it was all I had at the time. You will have to publish your reviews.

  9. I am so glad that you got to have a fun time with your mom. I'm also glad you got your crown fixed and your taxes finished. I've still managed to somehow avoid doing hours and I know I am getting down to the wire. I hate doing them and put it off every single year but I always manage to get them done before the deadline. I've also been trying to read more books. I joined a challenge to read 52 books this year in a Facebook group and it's been fun. I'm enjoying reading things I wouldn't normally read and I've found a couple great authors out of it. Have a great weekend to you too!
