Monday Motivation I

I used to love Monday mornings.  After a busy, hectic two days filled with kids' activities, chores and lots to do, Mondays were a peaceful time to catch my breath and plan for the week ahead.

As the boys get older, and I realize that these weekend days as a family of four are getting fewer and more precious, I began to dread Mondays. Everyone was back to work and school, and I was left home alone to contemplate my future empty nest.  I spent most of the day feeling sorry for myself.

Not anymore.  I want to look forward to Mondays again.  I want to be excited about the possibility of a fresh new start.

From now on, I will wake up on Mondays with determination.  I will choose to be positive and happy.  There is so much to do and so many opportunities to embrace.  Life's too short to dislike 1/7 of it!

One year ago today I hit publish on this blog.  I had been thinking and dreaming about blogging for a long time before I finally got brave enough to start.  I can't believe it's already been a year.

I've grown so much, made so many new friends, and learned more than I knew was possible. I feel like I'm finally finding my way again.

Thank you so much for reading along with me, and for all the support and friendship.  I'm excited to see what the future holds!

Oh, and Happy Monday!

  9. What a great milestone! And also a great attitude for making the most out of your Mondays. I'm still in the stage where Mondays bring me some space to get things done, but I'll be in your shoes before long. Have a great day. Treat yourself to a cupcake in celebration!

  15. Happy Blogiversary! So amazing!
I had a similar thought today about Monday mornings. We can choose happiness and motivation. Most Monday mornings come in like a freight train around here - cold, annoying pets, sick kids, etc. Today was rough but then we got in the car and I realized my husband had completely cleaned the interior and exterior of the minivan and it was so fresh and I decided to focus on that instead.

    1. Thank you Tamara! I can't believe it's been a year already. Can I say that I kind of miss the freight train Monday mornings? Now they're just quiet. But I'm going to start focusing on the positive.

  19. OH, Happy Blogiversary to you, sweet Lana! I want you to know I read your blog almost every day. I know I don't always comment, but it's because it's usually in the morning when I am still getting ready and in a rush. However, yours is one of the blogs I always look to on Bloglovin first thing because I love reading what you have to say, you make me laugh, and always have an encouraging word. I am so glad you decided to hit publish!
