It's bathing suit season again. Already?
Luckily, one of the trends for 2015 is retro swimwear from the 50's and 60's. Who doesn't want to channel Marilyn Monroe's sexy, feminine style while on the beach?
This one piece suit with polka dots and a halter top is universally flattering, covers all the important parts, and is adorable.
If a two piece is more your style, the high waisted bikini pant with a bandeau or halter top from the 60's is also back in style. I'm going to give this one to Taylor Swift, who rocked it last summer.
These suits are feminine and pretty while covering and flattening the tummy.
Are you looking for a new bathing suit this year? What's your favorite style?

I have been really on the fence about a suit this year. I like the high waist trend but I have a very short waist - so not flattering to me. I am considering a tankini. Thanks for the cute options! Susan
ReplyDeleteI usually buy a tankini too - but I might try on some of these this year!
DeleteI'm a big fan of the tankini too but these are lovely - I'm into anything that reduces bikini line waxing! You'll have to put a pic up of yourself in your new swimsuit when you get it Lana
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I'm that brave :)! I totally agree about the bikini waxing!
DeleteI love these retro styles! Thanks for sharing all of these cute picks!

I love them too!
DeleteI love this years bathing suits! I've already picked mine out and I chose the swim shorts with the first top shown (the polka dot) without the polka dots and it's blue.
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed that you already have your suit. I usually put it off as long as possible!
DeleteHa! It's been in the high 80's here all week!
DeleteOh these are just so cute! I'm all for covering up the tummy. I do suspect that Taylor Swift would look good in any type of suit though. Did you see her on The Voice last season? Boy, she was good. I do adore her.
ReplyDeleteLana... I love one piece swimsuits with a little skirt... I'm pear shaped so they are the most flattering for me. I really hope the retro styles stay around for awhile too... they are way more flattering ♡
ReplyDeleteThese are definitely flattering and feminine!
DeleteI LOVE the retro look! My daughter has a few retro swimsuits.
ReplyDeleteI'll bet they're so cute on her!
DeleteI have a retro red polka dot bathing suit which is my fave!!! I think I got it for poppina a couple years ago. Loved this post!
ReplyDeleteThe red polka dots are my favorite. I need to go on the hunt.
DeleteI remember my mom wearing a suit very similar to the one Marilyn is wearing above (and she looked stunning in it!) I haven't been bathing suit shopping this year, so wasn't even aware of this retro-trend. If guess it's true - if you wait long enough, things always seem to come back in style!
ReplyDeleteMy mom was a fan of the two piece style. I tried to find some pictures but wasn't successful. Things definitely always come back around!
DeleteSo glad these looks are in style, as I love them. You know those polka dot beauties belong in my arsenal, right?!
ReplyDeleteI thought of you when I was writing this post!
DeleteI think I am going to avoid swimsuit shopping this year, because I got two new suits last year. Yay! I hate shopping for swim suits... :) I love the polka dot one, so cute!
ReplyDeleteMe too - although I do love the polka dots!
DeleteThese are adorable Lana! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading Karen!
DeleteLove the retro look and love that they are more modest, too!
ReplyDeleteThat's my favorite part!
