Sisterhood Of The World Bloggers Award

My lovely friend Katie from The Mishaps And Mayhem Of A Solitary Life nominated me for the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award back in August, and since I've been such a blog-slacker, I'm only now answering her questions.  Katie is one of my very favorite bloggers - she's an awesome teacher with a beautiful heart, and you should definitely be reading her blog. Thank you so much Katie - I'm sorry it took so long!

The goal of the award is to learn more about our fellow bloggers, which is always fun.  Katie asked me ten questions, and at the end of this post I will nominate others and ask ten new questions of my own.  On to Katie's questions:

-How has blogging enhanced your life?  Blogging has done more than enhance me - I would have to say that it has renewed me.  Eighteen months ago when I wrote my first post, I had no idea about the wonderful world of friendship that awaited me.  Not only have I found a creative outlet for the crazy thoughts running around in my brain, I have met so many wonderful women, both virtually and in real life.  I'm more positive and excited about the future!

-What's your favorite guilty pleasure show?  The Real Housewives of anything.  Well, except New Jersey.   Those women just scare me.

-Have you ever done anything that's taken you out of your comfort zone? If so, what?  I think swimming with the sharks was probably my biggest challenge.  I try to push myself and show my boys how to be brave. But I could do so much better.

-What are you reading now?  I've got two books going.  "The Hypnotist's Love Story" by Liane Moriarty and "East of Eden" by John Steinbeck.  One is for pleasure, and the other is because my son is reading it for AP Lit, and I can't remember enough about the book to discuss it with him.  Bet you can figure out which is which!

-What are three things you can't live without?  M&M's, sweatpants, and a good book.  I used to think I couldn't live without Diet Coke, but the 21-Day Fix is curing me of that.

-Morning person or Night owl?  Honestly, neither one.  My ideal sleeping schedule would be 11pm-7am, but that rarely happens.  I'm always up too late and someone inevitably wakes me up before my alarm.  In my younger days I was probably more of a night owl, but now I'm pretty cranky by 10pm.

-What season do you think is easiest to dress for?  I think summer is actually the easiest - shorts and a t-shirt are a no brainer for me.  But fall is my favorite season to dress for - boots, scarves and cozy sweaters!

-Where is your favorite place to visit?  This is hard, because I love to travel, and in the words of my younger son, "I want to go everywhere".  But if I had to pick just one, I'd say the beach.  It has a calming influence on me.  Which I definitely need, even on vacation.

-What genre of music is your favorite and why?  I don't really have a favorite.  I love music and listen to most anything.  In the past few years I've seen Macklemore, Imagine Dragons, Pink, Fitz and the Tantrums, Annie Lennox and Toby Keith in concert.  And I enjoyed them all (but Pink was the BEST)!

-What would your perfect day entail?  It would have to be sunny, wherever I was!  A fun adventure, a little shopping, some good food and my family for company.

Thank you so much Katie for these fun questions!  Now it's my turn to nominate a few blogging sisters to pass the award on to:
My questions are:

How has blogging enhanced your life?  (Stealing this one from Katie because I love it)
What is your favorite go to hair product we should know about?
If you knew then what you know now, what would you have done differently ten years ago?
What's the best thing you did this summer?
If you were headed to a deserted island, what three things would you bring with you?
What's the last movie you went to?
What do you miss the most about being a kid?
What's your favorite song on the radio right now?
If you had an unexpected 30 minutes of free time, what would you do with it?
What would your perfect day entail?  (Stole this one from Katie too)

    1. Well, we were in a cage, and they weren't great whites or anything - but it was still terrifying! If I wasn't so much older than you, I'd swear we were separated at birth!

  10. Why thank you my dear! This made me remember that I never did Leanne's quotes challenge either. So I will post it one day next week. I'm still trying to figure out my posting schedule. Today I accidentally posted from both! Oops! I'll blame it on baby brain!
