Transitioning Summer Tanks & Tees To Fall

Fashion on Monday?  Yep - I'm so excited to be joining a blog hop today with some of my fashionable friends from The Blended Blog.  If you hopped over from Deena or Casey's blogs, welcome.  I'm glad you're here!  If you're starting with me, be sure to head to their blogs next.  Deena is showing us how to transition vests to fall, and Casey is styling a plaid dress. I know they'll have some great ideas.

To be honest, the transition from summer to fall is almost complete here, and before long we'll have full on windy, rainy weather.  I've only got a few more weeks until I put away my tank tops and t-shirts for the season.  Today I'm sharing two ways to wear them just a little bit longer.

--With a cardigan and flats.  I love my graphic tees, and hate to see them go.  By adding a sweater and closed toe shoes, I'm warm and cozy.

--With a jacket and booties.  This leopard print tank top was a favorite this summer.  By adding a fall colored jacket and some black booties, I can still wear this for date night.

How are you transitioning your wardrobe from summer to fall?  I'd love some new ideas!

  1. I love that black and white tank under the jacket! So cute! And of course you can never go wrong with a graphic tee in my opinion. Sometimes if the weather cooperates, I like doing jean/tank and a scarf :) Have a great Monday, my friend!! XOXOXO

  7. Layering tanks under jackets and sweaters is perfect for fall! Both looks are great, Lana. We have a few more weeks of semi-warm temps - and then it will get cold for us, too.

  9. I just recently discovered this. And wow - it is not nearly as hot under a sweater or blazer. Great post!

  10. I don't ever transition. Well, wait. I go from short sleeved shirts, to long sleeved ones. But I basically always wear jeans and my sneakers.

  11. Ohhh I love how you added the long cardi to the graphic tee! It looks great on you! And of course leopard is always right. You can't even use them for layering? I sometimes have a tank, a long sleeved shirt and another layer (vest, sweater, cardi). And I don't live where it gets as cold as you do!

    1. I think the problem is that we get the "damp" cold. I just can't get warm enough unless I have a few sweater layers on!

  12. You look totally cozy and comfy in the tee & cardi. That's my fave.

  13. I wish I knew how to do it well!
Today was 70 so I wore a favorite tank and jeans, but instead of sandals, I did socks and boots. And a jacket!

    1. I love my boots for fall/winter/spring. But I do miss sandals.

  14. I love your grey cardigan - and your pink blazer! Here, lately, it is all about layering ... cold mornings and summerlike afternoons, but if the sun goes behind a cloud it chills right down.

    1. It's amazing how cold it gets as soon as the sun isn't shining!

  15. I like the layering! I put away short sleeves but kept out some tanks for those annoyinghot flashes when layering, especially when the air is turned off and heat is turned on in buildings.

  16. love the graphic tee under the cardigan... I never thought of layering graphic tees much until I saw some of Deena's posts and how cute she looked. You rock both looks:)

  17. I love both looks. I really need to buy more sweaters and jackets like this one. I usually wear mine with plaid long sleeved shirts, but it would be nice to have a couple new cardigans.
