My New Happy: Welcome To My Holiday Home

Welcome To My Holiday Home

I have to admit that I'm a bit nosy, and I love taking a peek into other people's houses.  So when the ladies of The Blended Blog decided to do a Christmas Home Tour Blog Hop, I was on board.

If you're visiting from Deena's blog, welcome to my home in the Pacific Northwest.  We may not have a white Christmas very often, but we've got lots of holiday spirit!

My husband has been collecting Christmas decorations since he was a little boy, so we have too many a lot.  I wrote about the Lenox Tree last year, and it's the center of our home during the holidays.

The porcelain deer and Father Christmas have a place of honor on the mantel.

There's a second tree in our kitchen/family room.  It's for the "land of forgotten ornaments" that my husband won't put on the Lenox tree!

Last year we provided door hardware for the new Funko warehouse, and they let us pick out some bobble heads.  The Year Without A Santa Claus is one of my favorite holiday specials, and these two kind of remind me of my boys. Which makes me Mother Nature.

If there's a flat surface in my house, there's probably something Christmassy on it.

And most importantly, the Creche.  We received it as a wedding gift from my aunt and uncle, so it's very special to me.  Baby Jesus went missing two years ago, and I spent hours searching for him.  Last week we found him - in my husband's sock drawer.  Don't even ask, because I have no idea.  Anyway, he's back!  Which is great news, because the price of a new baby Jesus is outrageous.  But a Creche is kind of pointless without him.

Thank you so much for stopping by and visiting my holiday home!

Next up on the hop is Sarah, and you'll definitely want to go see her house.  She has previously shared some great decorating tips on The Blended Blog, so I know her home will look fabulous!

  5. What a crazy story about losing baby Jesus. Glad he is found! I also think having a second tree with the less then perfect ornaments is a great idea. Great decorations Lana!

  8. OH I love that you found Baby Jesus, and in a sock drawer...if only JC could talk. Love all of your little touches, I think I need to get my hoarding and stacking tendencies at bay so I can add little things like that and not have them over run by the copious amounts of stacked things everywhere, hehe.

  10. Thank you for the peek! Beautiful home! Why is it that the baby Jesus always somehow walks away? I, too found my baby Jesus. Downstairs in the laundry. He gets around . . .

  11. Love all your trees but mostly the story about JC and the sock drawer. Hubby was probably keeping him safe for his arrival Cmas day and forgot about him...years ago.

  13. Those Lenox ornaments are really gorgeous! I am dying to know the truth behind the missing baby Jesus that was stashed in a sock drawer. That made me just chuckle!

  15. Lana, I adore your trees, they turned out so lovely. I used to have a great deal of Christmas items but when Valentina was born we moved 6 times on 5 years ... so I misplaced a lot of it... I hope you can enjoy the holidays ♡ xox

  16. Just lovely. Two trees? I have trouble getting PC to agree to one. Both of yours are beautiful. Love the garland on your banister, your holiday china. So glad baby Jesus is back!

  17. lots of Christmas-y stuff Lana - it makes my Christmas look a little minimal, but that also means less set up and take down time! So glad you found baby Jesus before you had to buy another one - mine is attached firmly to the manger so we're safe there :) Lovely to have you back blogging more!

  19. The door! It looks just like from a movie. As well as the mantel and the tree. I hope all of this is making you feel cozy and loved this holiday season.

  20. Lovely home, Lana, inside and out! Don't you just love the Holidays? I see it as an excuse to overdecorate and as you put it, embellish each flat surface you can find, haha! P.S. I love the idea of having a second tree for 'forgotten ornaments'. :-)

  21. I jumped over and read about your Lenox tree. WOW! I cannot imagine how special that is! My boys loved the Christmas Without a Santa Clause so that movie is special to me too. One year my boys sang the heat miser and cold miser song over and over. Thanks for sharing your lovely home!

  23. Lana, your holiday decorations -inside and out- are magazine worthy! So beautiful. Our Christmas will be white - wish I could send a little of this snow your way ;)

  24. Your home is always so beautifully decorated Lana. I used to be able to keep mine like that until momma. She just randomly moves things around and sets them down wherever she happens to walk. Now its more of a hodgepodge haha. I thought I would come by and hang out with some friends tonight so I'm catching up on my reading. I know you just went through it and it just sucks. Anyway I'll continue on to the next post dear friend. Thanks for keeping me company for a little while.
