Motivational Monday XLIX

It was a tough weekend.  We lost my uncle, one of the kindest, most intelligent souls to ever walk this earth.  He was a friend and a mentor, and treated me more like a daughter than a niece.  Uncle Rick embraced life, was always ready for the next adventure, and welcomed everybody to come along.  He taught me so much about the importance of family and how to wisely spend the time that we have - and how to count in Spanish, row a canoe, and swim across the lake. Up until the very end, he was full of hope and love.   It's hard to imagine a world without him in it.

I'm linking up with Shaunacey today for Monday Moments of Gratitude.  In the midst of  loss, I'm so grateful to have known this man for 49 years.  Fly free, sweet uncle. There is no end to the adventures you will have.

  20. My Uncle Bud was to me as your Uncle Rick was to you. I never knew my grandfathers so Uncle Bud was the closest thing I had to a grandpa. Precious man. Keep that picture of the two of you near to help you remember happier days. Much love to you.
