Spring Fever Fashion: Paris

Welcome to March and the first week of Spring Fever Fashion with my lovely friends at The Blended Blog.  Thank you to everyone who linked up with us last week!  We keep growing and it's thanks to all of you.

I love the idea of putting away the boots and sweaters, and nobody is more ready for spring to arrive than me. However, Seattle weather is not cooperating.  I had a floral-y, spring-y outfit all picked out, but then I looked out the window and saw this.

So....new plan.  Today seems like a good day to share some of the fashion I saw in Paris last year.

The biggest surprise was all of the color.  We were there during a very warm week in September, so most of the French women were still in summer clothes. Black and white was popular, but I saw lots of bright reds and pinks.

The windows were dressed for fall however, and many featured a rich color palette.

I fell in love with this sheer blouse with a floral print underneath.  Sadly, the store was closed so I couldn't make it mine.  And see the lady in purple reflected in the window?  More color!

Lest we forget we're in Paris, there was plenty of monochromatic styling, and more than a little black, white and gray.

Overall, this was the quintessential Paris look - black and white, with a pop of color. Sneakers, a beautiful bag, and an effortless but chic style.

Enough about Paris - let's get on to the spring fashion!  I can't wait to see what everyone is wearing, and maybe next week I can join in. I hope you'll link up with us again this week, and follow along with #theblendedblogstyle.

  1. I always picture black and white stripes when I think of Paris, so I'm glad you showed those! My friend lived there for two years and sent my kids the BEST baby clothes on earth.

  8. Thank you for sharing some of your French fashion photos. That white blouse is so unusual! I thought it was white with a watercolor floral bodice. But the floral is underneath? How clever. Like wearing a Monet.

The thing I noticed about the women in France was how effortlessly fashionable (or so it seemed to me) they were. Like the cutie in the black and white stripes and the tennies. I would put that on and worry for hours about how I looked, and probably change clothes in the end...of course, I am nearly 60. But she looks so confident and stylish, and walks with self assurance. Thanks for sharing.

Hope spring makes it way to Washington soon.

    1. It's still snowing. I agree - I definitely don't have the confidence of the French women!
