August Gratitude In Numbers

Another month has come to a close!  Today I'm sharing my gratitude in numbers, and on Monday I'll be linking up with the lovely Deena at Shoes To Shiraz - you should join us! Here's what I'm grateful for this month...

--290 dogs washed and over $6,000 raised during the annual Scrub A Mutt fundraiser.  Great fun was had by both the dogs and the humans.  The weather was beautiful, nobody bit anybody, and I was only soaking wet for half the day.

--1 twelve year old.  My niece had a birthday this month!  She's the only girl in a sea of boy cousins, and she's smart, funny and pretty darn adorable.  So grateful for her in my life.

--28 days of sunshine.  The weather was glorious this month - until last weekend, when it all came crashing down (literally) with an historic rain/wind storm.  It seems that fall has abruptly arrived.  But I will always be grateful for summer...

--2 boxes of peaches.  My husband went over the mountains on business and returned with fresh picked, delicious peaches.  We've been eating them every which way - in pies, over ice cream, with every meal.  SO good.

--4 scones, 2 lemonades, 1 onion burger, 1 elephant ear, hundreds of animals.  It's time for the fair!  Usually the boys and I go, but this year they were both busy and we couldn't make anything work.  So my husband surprised me with a fair date, which is a big deal for him.  He's super allergic to hay, so he spent the whole time sneezing and snuffling. We ate our way through the day, saw Clydesdale horses and baby piglets, and had a great time.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Labor Day weekend!

  4. I am sorry about the hay allergy. Our rabbit Bonanza goes through a flake of it a month. It smells heavenly. How very kind of your husband to soldier through the sneezes and snuffles to take you to the fair. And peaches? Yum! Our tree gave us dozens and dozens last year. This year? Wait for it ... we got TWO. Yes. Two peaches. Wish I knew about the Scrub A Mutt fundraiser ... Poppy is in dire need of a wash and she LOATHES the tub. Or the hose. SO much better when someone else washes her...

  5. I live right down the road from the biggest peach orchard! In the Spring they bloom in pink and it is so gorgeous to look at! I've missed you but I know you are juggling a lot right now! Hopefully your mom is doing so much better! We're headed to an apple festival tonight so I will be freezing apples all weekend!

  8. What a great way to think about gratitude, in numbers. Wonderful!
And the best with gratitude is that when you have the great feeling of gratitude you can´t have any negative feelings at the same time.
