My New Happy: It's Not A Race

It's Not A Race

I can't believe there are only nine days until Christmas.  Remember when you were little, and it seemed like Christmas would never get here?  I wish I could recapture a few of those moments.

Shopping, baking, decorating, Christmas cards...so much to do this time of year.  I feel like I started out at the end of the race, and I've yet to catch up.

But today I remembered that it's not a race.  I want to make this season warm, happy, and meaningful for my mom, my family, and myself.  There has been loss, but there is also joy. And no matter what I do or do not get done, it will be the perfect Christmas for us.

I just wish I had more than nine days.

It's my feature day at The Blended Blog, and I hope you'll head over and read about my number one parenting tip.

  5. I felt like I was ahead of the game and then suddenly Christmas in 9 days away! what?! When did that happen? As long as my oven gets fixed tomorrow I'll be good, I have Christmas cookies to make! Can't my oven break at some other more convenient time? hehe.

  7. I feel like I'm in high gear too and I want to have some slow days before Christmas. The only comforting thing is that every woman I know feels the exact same way! The week between Christmas and New Year's is usually relaxing though. :)
