My New Happy: When And Where I'm Thankful

When And Where I'm Thankful

This morning I woke up, stretched, rolled out of bed...and remembered that all my favorite guys were asleep under the same roof as me.  Which hasn't happened for over three months, so I was a very happy mama.  It's the little things.

The only way it could have been better?  If we'd woken up in our favorite little beach house.

There's something about the beach, and the ocean, that makes me grateful and at peace.  I could sit there all day with my toes in the sand and watch the waves roll in and out.  I'm reminded that life goes on, day after day, and problems that seem so big eventually become small grains of sand, with time.

It's easy to be thankful at the beach.  So when I need it most, I close my eyes, picture the waves, and remember that the giant in front of me is never bigger than the strength inside.

  5. I wish I could go to the beach more often, it is hard being in a landlocked state! But, oh do I enjoy it when I do get to go. Love everything you said in this post and it is all true! Enjoy your boys being home!

  11. Lana, the next time I go to the beach I am going to just sit in the sand and watch the waves go in and out... it is a great metaphor to deal with the trials we have... I am so happy to hear you had all three of your favorite people under the same roof xox
